(App K Pavinthran) Dwelt at the start and as such was unable to be ridden in a forward position. When making ground near the 200M, had to be steadied.

RACE 3 (R650) CLASS 5 (A) – 2000M (C6 LONG COURSE)

(Y Aify) Drifted out over the concluding 75M. Rider fined RM500/- for using his whip forward of the shoulder.
6 LIGHTNING HERO
(App A Suriya) Shifted in, crowding FORTUNE SPIRIT at the turn into the straight. Rider reprimanded for failing to afford sufficient room to other runners.

RACE 4 (R651) OPEN NOVICE (SW) – 1500M (C6 LONG COURSE)
An objection was lodged by Jockey L De Souza (RS DIAGO), placed second, against WAIMEA (App I Fikri) being declared the winner, alleging interference at about the 200M. The Panel of Stewards overruled the objection.

An objection was lodged by Jockey S Ruzaini (DANCING RAIN), placed second, against SKYDANCE ECLIPSE (L De Souza), being declared the winner, alleging interference over the concluding stages. The Panel of Stewards overruled the objection.

(L De Souza) Commenced to lay inwards from the 300M, crowded runner at the 250M and rider accidentally struck other rider’s whip near the 125M. Objection. *(See Report). Rider reprimanded for shifting in.

RACE 8 (R655) CLASS 4 (A) – 1250M (C6 SHORT COURSE)
Prior to the “All Clear” being given, the Stewards considered a complaint from Trainer KC Tiang related to SHINE SHINE being denied a fair start. It was ascertained that the gelding was indeed sitting back, nodding its head repetitively and that Jockey J Low had requested a handler. However, as the Starter was satisfied that the horse’s position did not pose a danger and it was indeed facing correctly, the start was effected. The Stewards concurred with the Starter that SHINE SHINE was not denied a fair start, as such it was declared a definite runner.

On inquiry, App S Sia, the rider of DESIRE SKY, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, R Lines, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted out at the 150M and caused REDOUBT to be restrained.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App S Sia’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 6 June 2022 and to expire on 12 June 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
