The Stewards considered the matter of the saddle slipping badly on ROYAL FLUSH and inspected the equipment used, with the girth found to be significantly inferior. Trainer HY Cheng was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 35(1) and 41(7), and App AB Riduan was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 41(7) for failing to ensure that ROYAL FLUSH is properly equipped.
App M Lukman (ELEGENT) was advised that he was permitted to ride without any claim as he was returning from suspension. He was advised that he is expected to claim a portion of his allowance on every mount.

RACE 2 (R826) CLASS 5B – 1200M (A lc)
1 GOLD SKY EXPRESS
(App M Lukman) Shifted out shortly after the start, bumping runner. Veered outwards in the run to the finish, inconveniencing runner.
2 BELLA VELOCE
(KP Lim) Bumped shortly after the start, then raced wide in the middle stages. Inconvenienced and carried outwards near the 75M.

7 GOOD WARRIOR
(S Ruzaini) Obliged to race wide throughout from its wide stall.
8 DARK WIZARD
(J Low) Raced fiercely in the early stages and tended to lay out, taking the turn into the straight wide.
10 WINNING SMILE
(R Rueven) Reared at the start and lost considerable ground. In light of this, the gelding will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again.
Jockey M Ewe (RAINBOW FISH) was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to submit an application to ride 1 1/2kgs overweight.

(HK Cheng) Crowded over the final 75M and bumped on several occasions in the final strides. *(See Objection)

10 REMO MAMA
(App M Lukman) Laid inwards from the 200M, crowding runner and then bumping runner in the final strides. *(See Objection)
An objection was lodged by Jockey HK Cheng (EL MACHO), placed second, against REMO MAMA (App M Lukman), being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 75M. The Panel of Stewards dismissed the objection.
On inquiry, App M Lukman (REMO MAMA), in the presence of his Employing Trainer, WC Lim, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting in, crowding EL MACHO over the final 75M.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App M Lukman’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days with effect from 7 August 2023 and to expire on 13 August 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

(App A Najib) Bumped heavily on jumping and thereby slow into stride.

(HS Gill) Over-raced in the early stages and tired considerably in the straight.
4 JUNGLE KING
(S Ruzaini) Had to be checked when attempting a marginal run on the fence near the 275M. Rider advised that he was committed to the inside of the tiring horse when it had been marginally crowded and he had been unable to restrain quickly enough to extricate this horse from that position.
6 MERCURIAL TURN
(App WW Cheah) Veered inwards at the start, bumping runner.
7 RS DIAGO
(App M Lukman) Buffeted when racing tight near the 800M. Had to be taken out when attempting to obtain a clear run and steadied to avoid heels when blocked passing the 200M.
9 WHIZ FIZZ
(R Rueven) Crowded and buffeted near the 800M. Shifted out near the 200M to obtain a clear passage and thereby impeded runner.
10 TAKREEM
(O Chavez) Slow into stride and raced wide thereafter.
Trainer F Maynard (GREAT EXPECTATION) was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of Special Bit within the prescribed time.

RACE 10 (R834) Class 3 – 1200M (A sc)
1 HANDSOME BENZ
(HS Gill) Brushed near the 200M and was bumped again near the 50M.
2 ZANJABEEL
(O Chavez) Drifted out when tiring between the 250M and the 100M.
3 THE MAREEBA MANGO
(App WW Cheah) Rider was fined RM500/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for gesticulating before the finish.
4 RESOLUTE
(R Rueven) Crowded at the start, bumping runner near the 75M and at the winning post, attempted to savage the horse on its inside.
5 GOOD MAN
(App H Haikal) Struck the heels of runner near the 175M and blundered badly, partially dislodging rider. *(See Report)
7 MALAYSIA CAPTAIN
(S Ruzaini) Over-raced in the early stages and brushed runner at the 200M.
On inquiry, it was established that GOOD MAN was attempting to lay outwards, however, App H Haikal had taken the gelding in to obtain a clear passage at the same time the tiring ZANJABEEL drifted out and when App H Haikal attempted to straighten GOOD MAN, the gelding had failed to respond quickly, striking the heels of ZANJABEEL, thereby blundering. App H Haikal was reprimanded for his failure to exercise proper care in this circumstance.

(App M Seelan) Tightened badly from the outside on jumping, thereby losing ground, then raced wide throughout.
8 UNLEASH THE DRAGON
(O Chavez) Tightened shortly after the start and raced wide in the middle stages.
9 SECRET AGENT
(App A Suriya) Crowded on jumping, had to be restrained when crossed near the 900M. *(See Report)
10 CANDY RAIN
(App A Najib) Restless in the stall prior to start, kicking out on several occasions. Apprentice lost control of his whip near the 350M which he regained and was referred to specific retraining.
On inquiry, it was established that PROPLAYER which was racing fiercely, had shifted in quickly when tightened slightly by MISS THYRA. This had caused SECRET AGENT to be restrained to avoid its heels. Jockey Z Khairil was warned that he must afford runners sufficient galloping room.

RACE 12 (R836) Class 5A – 1200M (A sc)
This race was run in heavy rain.
8 I LOVE YOU
(J Low) Rider advised that he had become unsighted in the straight due to the rain and kickback.
