7 LIM’S TORPEDO
(S Ruzaini) Slow into stride and was obliged to race extremely wide throughout. Rider stated that although trapped wide, the gelding had offered nothing in the straight and had compounded badly. He considered that it was not suited for racing over this distance. Trainer advised that it was his intention to freshen the gelding and to restrict his races to less than 1500M.
Vet inspection: No significant finding.

(HK Cheng) Dwelt at the start, losing considerable ground. Saddle shifted sideways on jumping, rectifying itself shortly after.

(App M Ekdihar) Withdrawn at 1:18pm: Refused to be loaded – 1 Starting Stall.
9 MGR ROCKET
(S Ruzaini) Shifted in under the whip riding in the final 75M, carrying runner inwards causing it to be restrained. *(See Report).

(HS Gill) Brushed near the 50M.
On inquiry, Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of MGR ROCKET, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that when he rode MGR ROCKET, he allowed his mount to shift in thereby causing STORM TO WIN to be restrained in the final stages of the race.
In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Ruzaini’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days with effect from 3 July 2023 and to expire on 15 July 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

(S Ruzaini) Veered outwards on jumping, bumping runner and when racing wide near the 1100M, was carried outwards, thereby racing wide until the straight and was eased down in the straight. Vet inspection: Respiratory distress – 1000M/vet (1 month embargo).

(HS Gill) Slow into stride and raced fiercely in the early stages and was inclined to lay inwards in the straight.
11 FLAMING PHOENIX
(MM Firdaus) Commenced to pull hard near the 1200M and shifted outwards to avoid the heels near the 1100M, carrying runner wide.

RACE 5 (R704) CLASS 4b – 1250M (A4 lc)
1 HOUSEHOLD DYNASTY
(L De Souza) When arriving at the barrier, it was ascertained that the gelding had blood in both nostrils and was subsequently withdrawn at 2:11pm. - Bleeder’s test (Barred 3 months). Impounded for tests. When questioned, rider stated that when proceeding to the start, the gelding had dropped his head and had coughed on one occasion, he had sighted blood and reported this to the Veterinary officer at the start.
2 MERCURIAL TURN
(App M Ekdihar) Sitting back when the start was affected, thereby losing ground.
4 IRONCLAD
(S Ruzaini) Reared at the start and was subsequently slow to begin. Obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages. Vet inspection: Respiratory distress & upper respiratory tract infection – 1000M/vet (1 month embargo)

(J Low) Brushed at the 75M. The Stewards questioned rider related to the veracity of his whip in particular related to a contrasting style. Whilst accepting his explanation, rider was advised that he must demonstrate true purpose at all times.

(App Clyde Leck) Broke through the front gate prior to the start being affected and was quickly restrained and after a veterinary inspection, was permitted to take its place in the field.

(App H Haikal) Steadied slightly near the 650M to avoid heels and was inclined to lay inwards considerably over the final 300M, brushing runner near the 100M.
