Trainer WC Lim and App M Lukman, the trainer and rider of PROPLAYER respectively, were questioned regarding the improved performance of the gelding. Trainer WC Lim explained that the run in transit today from draw 1, had aided this horse which has had been forced to race wide, when returning to Class 5B on 23 December 2023 and was unable to secure clear running and was checked on 20 January 2024. The Board noted the explanation of Trainer WC Lim.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey S Zulfikri, the rider of LITTLE PLEASURE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding LITTLE PLEASURE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to FIREWORKS, FLAMING PHOENIX, CHER, ANDADO, BIG CHINA and TURF PRINCESS at the 1100M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Zulfikri’s mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Selangor Turf Club race days which will be served on 24 March 2024 and 31 March 2024.  He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App A Nazir, the rider of LIMITLESS STOUT, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding LIMITLESS STOUT, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to RHYTHM OF ZEN at approximately the 800M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App A Nazir’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 18 March 2024 and to expire on 24 March 2024, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App R Nuqman, the rider of PACIFIC EMPIRE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding PACIFIC EMPIRE, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to QUICKEN AWAY, KONG FU PANDA, ANSU and MILITARY FLAG at approximately the 1000M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App R Nuqman’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 18 March 2024 and to expire on 24 March 2024, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Hafis’ guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day which will be served on 23 March 2024. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM1,500/-.  He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC

RACE 2 (R0246) CLASS 5 B – 1200M (LC A4), SUNDAY, 10 MARCH 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 17 March 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of CHIEF OF ARMY and took evidence from Jockey S Zulfikri, the rider of the CHIEF OF ARMY.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action, however, highlighted the inconsistency of Jockey S Zulfikri’s riding and advised him that should he appear before the Board regarding a similar occurrence in future, more severe sanctions may follow.


RACE 8 (R0200) CLASS 4 B – 1175M (Track II), SATURDAY, 24 FEBRUARY 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 17 March 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of SIMLONG BEACH and took evidence from Jockey S Zulfikri, the rider of the SIMLONG BEACH.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action. However, he was reminded of his obligations to ensure that he makes adequate attempts to enable his mount to have a favourable run in transit.


RACE 8 (R0200) CLASS 4 B – 1175M (Track II), SATURDAY, 24 FEBRUARY 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2024

The Stewards, on Sunday, 17 March 2024 at SLTC, concluded an inquiry into the riding of INFINITE WISDOM and took evidence from Jockey S Hafis, the rider of the INFINITE WISDOM.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action. However, he was reminded of his obligations to ensure that he makes adequate attempts to enable his mount to have a favourable run in transit.


ADDENDUM

RACE 5 (R0259) METRO A – 1600M (LC A), SATURDAY, 16 MARCH 2024, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2024

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey SU Lim, the rider of BLACK THORN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding BLACK THORN, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to PASIR PINJI in the straight.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey SU Lim’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day which will be served on 23 March 2024. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM2,000/-.  He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
