The Panel of Stewards opened an Inquiry into the riding of LOOKS GOOD.   Evidence was taken from Jockey C Goon, the rider of LOOKS GOOD and after reviewing the videos, he was found guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards, in that he had failed to make sufficient effort to ride to his instructions which were to be handy.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into account Jockey C Goon’s disciplinary record and mitigating factors.   He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months, effective from Monday, 2nd May 2022 and to expire on Monday, 1st August 2022, both dates inclusive.    He was advised of his right of appeal (5.36pm).

GENERAL REPORT

RACE 7 (R505)  –  CLASS 5(B) -1400m (sc) – CITRINE HANDICAP

DAY 2 – SUNDAY, 24th APRIL 2022, PERAK APRIL MEETING 2022

When questioned regarding the improved performance of SWEET LODGE (R Rueven) which ran in the above race, Trainer Evert van Breukelen stated that the mare missed the jump on 3/4/2022.  He was surprised that the mare could get a good jump and lead, as his instructions were to be mid-field.   In his opinion, the pace was slow for this race and this could have contributed to the mare’s improved performance.  His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.
