STEWARDS’ REPORT – PERAK JUNE MEETING 2023DAY 1, SATURDAY – 3RD JUNE 2023

RACE 1 (R601)     CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc)   SERENGETI HANDICAP

Acting on veterinary advice that INTROIT (J Low) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 2.14pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

TRINITY HONOR (S Anandan) was slow into stride.

PURPLE RAIN LADY (R Rueven) raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

DAVINCI (HS Gill) laid out under the whip in the straight.

A post-race veterinary examination of GOLDEN EMPIRE (S Saddam) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R602)      CLASS 4 (A) – 1200m (lc)    BENGAL HANDICAP

AFALONHRO, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised near fore suspensory, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

As there was no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted App SN Shiva to replace Jockey KP Lim, as the rider of ZHU CAPTAIN when the latter was medically stood down.

Passing the 900M-mark, ZHU CAPTAIN (App SN Shiva) and GEORGETOWN (R Rueven) bumped on two occasions.   Thereafter, ZHU CAPTAIN showed no pace and dipped at the 550M-mark.

A post-race veterinary examination of ZHU CAPTAIN revealed no obvious abnormality.

App WW Cheah was stood down by the Club Medical Officer after the running of this race.

RACE 3 (R603)   CLASS 5 (A) – 1300m (lc)     ORICAT HANDICAP

The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey HS Gill to replace Jockey KP Lim, as the rider of LIM’S PIPER when the latter was medically stood down.

Acting on veterinary advice that LIM’S PIPER (HS Gill) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.13pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

SUPREME SUCCESS (S Anandan) which broke lose, ran a considerable distance and crashed onto the railings.  To avoid unnecessary delay, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.16pm. 

BLUE EYED BOY (S Saddam) and MY AIM (R Rueven) were examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.

SOON YOU THINK (App SN Shiva) reared as the start was effected.

BLUE EYED BOY showed no pace despite being urged.

Jockey S Saddam, the rider of BLUE EYED BOY reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of BLUE EYED BOY revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R604)    CLASS 5(B) – 1300M (lc)    CHEETOH HANDICAP

POWER EXPRESS (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly, brushing the outside gate.

BRISTOL DIAMOND (App SN Shiva) and YES BOSSY (HS Gill) were crowded when NAPOLEON (J Low) jumped awkwardly outwards and QUEEN FORCE (R Rueven) jumped awkwardly inwards.  Shortly thereafter, NAPOLEON raced ungenerously, throwing its head up on a number of occasions and showed no pace despite being urged.

Post-race veterinary examinations of BRISTOL DIAMOND and NAPOLEON revealed no obvious abnormality.

As there is no suitable rider available, the Panel of Stewards permitted the withdrawal of SIEW YUK at 3.41pm.

KING POWER (R Rueven) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

KING POWER and SHARP DRESSED MAN (HS Gill) bumped on jumping.

PROVOCATEUR (J Low) was crowded for room when COUNTRY LAW (M Yusri) jumped awkwardly outwards and ALWAYS D’GREAT (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly inwards, resulting in PROVOCATEUR being steadied, losing ground.

A post-race veterinary examination of ALWAYS D’GREAT revealed no obvious abnormality.

The report dated 25th May 2023 (V23/071) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 27 coded urine and 27 sets of coded blood samples from the above- mentioned race meeting were received on 13th May 2023, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.  No prohibited substances were detected.

JOCKEY URINE SAMPLES:

The report dated 1st June 2023 (V23/076) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 8 coded urine and 16 sets of coded blood samples from the above- mentioned race meeting were received on 23th May 2023, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.  No prohibited substances were detected.

The report dated 1st June 2023 (V23/077) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics  Laboratory stated that two (2) coded urine samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 23th May 2023, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
