RACE 1 (R0319)          CLASS 5(B) – 1600m (lc)

KHAN PEGASUS (App A Azizi) which was restless in its barrier, jumped awkwardly, throwing its head up as the start was effected, losing considerable ground.  KHAN PEGASUS will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

RULE THE WORLD (J Chuah) which jumped awkwardly and was slowly away, will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

D’S SECRET (KC Wong) was racing keenly in the early stages.

Passing the 200M, A BEAUTIFUL MIND (HS Gill) had to switch out to obtain a clear running.

BANG BINGO (S Saddam) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of KHAN PEGASUS, A BEAUTIFUL MIND and BANG BINGO revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R0320)       CLASS 5 (A) – 1600m (lc)   

Trainer K Coetzee was fined RM500/- for scratching WE CAN DO IT without a veterinary certificate under the Clause 4.09 of the Perak Turf Club Official Programme.

D’GREAT TIMING, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised off fore cannon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

MASTER JIANGMEN (A Suriya), COLONEL CHIEF (KC Wong) and MANDRAKE (J Chuah) were slow into stride.

MR MONDELLO (App P Haris) and CIRCUIT STAR (SU Lim) entered the first turn wide and thereafter, CIRCUIT STAR was racing keenly in the early and middle stages

Passing the 1000M, MASTER JIANGMEN rolled in and tightened MANDRAKE  which had to be steadied.

COLONEL CHIEF was obliged to race wide at the bend.

Passing the 900M, RS PARKER (App A Azizi) laid inwards and brushed the running rails.

RS PARKER had a tendency to hang out in the straight.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of SHOQEET reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of SHOQEET revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of MANDRAKE revealed that the gelding had returned with epiglottis entrapment, whilst FAST AND SUPER (S Saddam), CIRCUIT STAR and A BETTER TOMORROW (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.   MANDRAKE will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

When questioned regarding the improved performance of RS PARKER, Trainer K Ananthen, the trainer of RS PARKER stated that the gelding is a very difficult horse to ride and he had instructed App A Azizi to ride more vigorously today and the barrier test on Tuesday, 6th May 2025 had in his opinion, contributed to its improved performance.  His explanations were noted, however his attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.

ONEMOREFORTHEROAD (App SN Shiva) was slow into stride and showed no early pace, despite being urged.

STARDICE (App P Haris) jumped awkwardly outwards.

BIONICS (SU Lim) and LEGEND OF THE SUN (How Yang) were obliged to race wide at the bend.

Passing the 300M, ONE ABRACADABRA (WW Cheah) and SILENT BOSS (R Rueven) raced tight.

App SN Shiva, the rider of ONEMOREFORTHEROAD was dislodged on pulling-up and he was examined by the Club Medical Officer who certified him fit to continue riding.

BIONICS which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey R Rueven, the rider of SILENT BOSS, placed 4th against ZERO FIVE FIVE (App S Shazmin), placed 2nd on grounds of alleged interference at about the 200M.   After considering all the evidence and reviewing the video, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of race.  The objection was overruled and the Judges’ results stood. 

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of SILENT BOSS was reminded of his obligations against making frivolous objection in future.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SWEET LOVE (A Suriya), BIONICS and CRAZY LOVE (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Acting on the Starter’s report that STAR LEGEND (HS Gill) was difficult and was unable to be boxed and to avoid unnecessary delay, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of STAR LEGEND at 2.36pm.   The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

BLACK THORN (App P Haris) and ARTHUR PEGASUS (App A Azizi) showed no early pace, despite being urged.

STARLIGHT GLIMMER (App S Shazmin) had a tendency to hang out in the straight.

Passing the 400M, KIM LEGEND (SU Lim) laid out, carrying WECANDO (KC Wong) wide.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ARTHUR PEGASUS and KIM LEGEND revealed no obvious abnormality.  KIM LEGEND was impounded for analytical examinations.

SHANGHAI NIGHTS, a course scratching as it had sustained nail prick off fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

App A Azizi was fined RM500/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 107(10) for failing to make the carded weight.  The Panel of Stewards permitted App P Haris to replace him as the rider of STORM EIGHTY-THREE.

Trainer Ms S Hamilton was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of blinkers/pacifiers and special bit on JANUARY (HS Gill) within the stipulated time.

STORM EIGHTY-THREE (App P Haris) hesitated at the start and was slowly away and thereafter, showed no early pace despite being urged.

ELLIOT NESS (App S Shazmin) jumped awkwardly outwards.

FLAWLESS (SU Lim) was obliged to race wide at the bend.

JANUARY dipped just before entering the homestraight.

Passing the 100M, VINCENT’S STAR (R Rueven) was held up for a run between SUPER SALUTE (App SN Shiva) which drifted in and ELLIOT NESS which drifted out.

FAITHFUL LEADER (S Saddam) was hanging out over the concluding stages.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of VINCENT’S STAR reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of VINCENT’S STAR revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of FLAWLESS (SU Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.

COUNTRY LAW, a course scratching as it had sustained sole bruise near fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptor BLACK PRINCE was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

HORSE KING (HS Gill) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.

SUPER WHIRLWIND (App S Shazmin) jumped awkwardly inwards, making contact with LAXON (A Suriya), resulting in SUPER WHIRLWIND being slow into stride.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Trainer K Coetzee, the trainer of QIJI STAR, placed 2ND against CAVANA (App P Haris) the winner on grounds of alleged interference at about the 500M.   After considering all the evidence and reviewing the video, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of race.  The objection was overruled and the Judges’ results stood. 

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of GOD’S HAND reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises.  A post-race veterinary examination of GOD’S HAND revealed that the gelding had returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of LAXON and HORSE KING revealed no obvious abnormality. 

The state of track was upgraded to ‘good’ after the running of this race.

MIRACLE STAR, a course scratching as it had sustained sore off fore suspensory, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

GOLD PLAN (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped BROTHERLY LOVE (A Suriya).

CAVALLA COURT (App A Azizi) and KNIGHT LOVE (App S Shazmin) bumped on jumping.

BEAT THE LIGHT (App P Haris) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped SAFE JOURNEY (SU Lim), resulting in BEAT THE LIGHT being slow into stride.

Approaching the 800M, SUPERIOR COAT (J Chuah) shifted in under the whip, when insufficiently clear of SAFE JOURNEY which had to steady outwards.  Jockey J Chuah, the rider of SUPERIOR COAT was shown the video of the incident and was warned to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

The whip of Jockey A Suriya, the rider of BROTHERLY LOVE broke during the running.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SUPERIOR COAT, GOLD PLAN and SAFE JOURNEY revealed no obvious abnormality. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that GURNEY DRIVE (How Yang) returned with respiratory distress and as such, the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Acting on veterinary advice that BE YOURSELF (R Rueven) was difficult to proceed to the start and to avoid unnecessary delay, the Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of BE YOURSELF at 4.37pm.  The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test (to be ridden unaided to the barrier) before being declared to race again.

GEORGETOWN (App P Haris) and RHETT BUTLER (WW Cheah) bumped on jumping.

GEORGETOWN showed no early pace, despite being urged.

DISCRETELY RED (How Yang) was racing keenly in the early stages.

THAI BAHT (HS Gill) was obliged to race wide at the bend.

RHETT BUTLER drifted out and carried AIR BOSS (App A Azizi) wider on the track over the concluding stages.

Jockey SU Lim, the rider of   D’GREAT OCEAN reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of D’GREAT OCEAN revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of GEORGETOWN (App P Haris) and LIM’S HOPEFULLY (App SN Shiva) revealed no obvious abnormality.   LIM’S HOPEFULLY was impounded for further analytical examinations.

Post-race veterinary examinations of   YES BOSSY (HS Gill) revealed that the gelding had returned with heat stress whilst CHOSEN ONE (SU Lim), BEST CHILLI (App S Shazmin) and NOVA PHOENIX (How Yang) revealed no obvious abnormality.  YES BOSSY will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

ST ALWYN (A Suriya) had to steady when PENANG STAR (S Saddam) jumped awkwardly outwards and at the same time, HARI HARI HAPPY (App SN Shiva) jumped awkwardly inwards, losing ground.

KING RAVANA (SU Lim) dipped on jumping.

Post-race veterinary examinations of OCEAN LAW (KC Wong), SOLID EIGHTY-THREE (App A Azizi) and ST ALWYN revealed no obvious abnormality.

26th APRIL 2025 – PERAK APRIL MEETING 2025

The report dated 8th May 2025 (V25/067) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 30 coded urine and 30 sets of coded blood samples from the above-mentioned race meeting were received on 26 April 2025, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.  No prohibited substances were detected.
