RACE 1 (R355) CLASS 5(A) – 1300m (lc) SUN RISE HANDICAP
ALASAMO (App YY Oon) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.
MY FRIENDS (I Amirul) and DETERMINE TO WIN (WK Yan) were slow into stride.
SUNTZU (S Saddam) had to be steadied passing the 200M to avoid the heels of MASTRO GEPPETTO (M Yusri), which shifted inwards.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MY FRIENDS and DETERMINE TO WIN (WK Yan) revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Panel of Stewards questioned App YY Oon, the rider of ALASAMO in the presence of his acting master, Trainer S Deva Raj, as to why he had failed to carry out a direction from the Club Veterinary Surgeon. After considering all the evidence, the Panel of Stewards warned App YY Oon that in future, he must obey any directions given by a Club Official.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Jockey I Amirul, the rider of MY FRIENDS and Trainer P Lee, the trainer of MY FRIENDS as to its performance today. After considering all the evidence and reviewing the films, Jockey I Amirul was warned to ride all his mounts in a more positive and competitive manner in future. MY FRIENDS which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey WK Yan, the rider of DETERMINE TO WIN was found guilty under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Panel of Stewards, in that from shortly after the start until the 400M, he failed to ride with sufficient vigour to be more competitive.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration his mitigating factors. Jockey WK Yan was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) months with effect from Sunday, 25th April 2021 and to expire on Thursday, 24th June 2021, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (3.35pm).
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that ALASAMO returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 2 (R356) CLASS 5(A) – 1300m (lc) MEGA HEART HANDICAP
LUCKY ENOUGH (S Saddam) jumped away awkwardly and shifted out.
Shortly after the start, MR WOLFF (App YY Oon) shifted inwards, resulting in LUCKY GIANT (Z Khairil) being taken inwards onto GET THE LOTSKI (M Yusri) and SILENT BOSS (App I Firdzriel), which in turn shifted inwards and bumped LUCKY ENOUGH which had to check in this incident.
Jockeys CK Tan and Z Khairil, the rider of KRUGER and LUCKY GIANT respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of KRUGER and LUCKY GIANT revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 3 (R357) CLASS 5(B) – 1300m (lc) SUPER CONQUEROR HANDICAP
ASIAN JET, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised near fore sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
CLASSIC KING (I Amirul) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.
Post-race veterinary examinations of KEEN DRAGON (App I Firdzriel) and DICAPRIO (CK Tan) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R358) CLASS 5(B) -1300m (lc) FLYING PHOENIX HANDICAP
EMKI EMPRESS, a course scratching as it had sustained sore off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
SING DARCI (M Yusri) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of MAYWEATHER (S Saddam) at the 800M.
Jockey AM Aizat , the rider of ARTEMISTER, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of ARTEMISTER revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of QUEEN FORCE (App P Mogun) revealed that the mare had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Panel of Stewards questioned Trainer PK Leong, the trainer of DON’T FORGET THIS into the gelding’s improved performance today. Trainer PK Leong stated that DON’T FORGET THIS is better-suited by the good going and its distance today. His explanations were noted and he was reminded of his obligations regarding ‘in-and-out’ running under MRA Rule 117(3).

RACE 5 (R359) CLASS 5(A) – 1600m (lc) SUPERB HANDICAP
POLO MASTER, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised on both fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
SONNY BILL (Z Khairil) was slow to begin.
Post-race veterinary examinations of SONNY BILL revealed that the gelding had returned with epiglottic entrapment and LUCK HAPPY (KC Wong) revealed no obvious abnormality. SONNY BILL will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey M Yusri, the rider of SOON YOU THINK pleaded guilty under MRA Rule 44(6) for failing to ride SOON YOU THINK to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Panel of Stewards, in that from the 50M, he stopped riding and failed to ride out SOON YOU THINK to the end of the race.
In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration his mitigating factors. Jockey M Yusri was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from Sunday, 25th April 2021 and to expire on Monday, 24th May 2021, both dates inclusive. He was informed of his right of appeal (4.10pm).

RACE 6 (R360) CLASS 5(B) – 1600m (sc) DRAGON KING HANDICAP
JETSTAR EAGLE (App S Hafis) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and were passed fit to start.
MIRACLE TIME dislodged Jockey KC Wong at the barriers. He was examined by the Club Medical Officer and was passed fit to ride.
The saddle on GLORY AGE (AM Aizat) slipped backwards during the running of the race.
A post-race veterinary examination of BALBOA (App YY Oon) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockey CK Tan, the rider of STAR CHOICE reported that his mount was not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations STAR CHOICE revealed no obvious abnormality

The Panel of Stewards permitted App YY Oon to replace Jockey M Yusri as the rider of THE JEWELLER as there is no suitable jockey available when the latter was stood down by the Club Medical Officer.

RACE 9 (R363) ENRICH STAKES A – 1400m(sc) NEED YOU BADLY STAKES
Emergency acceptors ANDADO and BRISTOL DIAMOND were withdrawn due to capacity field.
The Panel of Stewards permitted Jockey CK Tan to replace Jockey M Yusri as the rider of NOT USUAL PRINCE, as the latter was stood down by the Club Medical Officer.
FLYING BABY (App I Firdzriel) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride and thereafter, his saddle slipped to the off-side during the running of the race.
The Panel of Stewards questioned App P Mogun, the rider of MULTIBLUE SHARK in the presence of the Clerk of Scales as to why he weighed in one (1) kg. over his declared weight he weighed out. An Inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed to allow his Employing Trainer, Trainer SJ Cook to attend.
Jockey S Salee, the rider of SUPER WINNER reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination SUPER WINNER revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that OCEAN LAW (KC Wong) returned having cast its near fore plate.

PERAK APRIL RACE MEETING 2021- DAY 4, SATURDAY, 24TH APRIL 2021
The Panel of Stewards on 22nd April 2021 at 11.30am ordered the scratching of the following horses from Selangor Turf Club due to the detection of 2 confirmed COVID -19 positive cases at SLTC as follow: –
Race 1: AUSSIE EAGLE, RAINBOW FISH, GORDON G, D’GREAT STRIKE, THAI BAHT and LET’S COME ON BABY
Race 2: BLUE EYED BOY, ISLE OF SKY, JET TWENTY and CALM AND TRANQUIL
Race 3: EDDIE GRAY, CATCH ME GREAT, FRANCES, FORTUNE SPIRIT and NOVA DASHING
Race 4: SWEET LODGE, SGFIFTY, SUPER EIGHT and AIR POWER
Race 5: JARL and D’GREAT WIN
Race 6: SUNNY
Race 7: D’GREAT MAGIC
Race 9: BLACK THORN
The Perak Turf Club committees have decided to cancel Race 10 DRAGON FORTUNE STAKES OPEN MAIDEN 1400M (SC) which was scheduled on Saturday (4th Day), 24th April 2021 in accordance with Clause 20 of the Perak Turf Club Official Programme.
PRE-RACE BLOOD TEST:
The report dated 24th April 2021 (V21/08) Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 84 coded blood samples were received from the above-mentioned race meeting for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. All samples were analyzed and passed the pre-race testing criteria.
