RACE 1 (R266) CLASS 4(B) – 1100m(str)    CHORIZEMA HANDICAP

STAR CHOICE which was up 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to race.

Passing the 300M, SMART RACER (App N Varmah) got its rein caught in the mane for a short distance.

Approaching the 250M, WORLD HARMONY (App S Saddam) got his whip caught in the rein.

Jockey C Goon, the rider of ALL SERENE was shown the vision of his ride over the concluding stages of the race and was advised that he must ensure that he rides all his mounts out to the finish.

App S Saddam, the rider of WORLD HARMONY reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of WORLD HARMONY revealed that the gelding returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SUPER LINE (HS Gill) and HAPPY DAYZ (App L De Souza) revealed no obvious abnormality and CRACKING TOTTIE (SS Vanan) returned lame near fore.   As such, CRACKING TOTTIE will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 2 (R267)      CLASS 4(A) – 1100m(str)   SILVER SPURFLOWER HANDICAP

HUN YEANG ROAD, PURPLE RAIN and JULIUS CAESAR, all course scratching as they had sustained a bruised left knee, bruised near fore sole and bruised near fore cannon respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

ZAC ACE which was up 17kgs in body weight since its last run, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to race.

POMP (S Anandan) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and passed fit to start.

LUKE MAN (R Rueven) jumped away awkwardly.

PRESTO (App N Varmah) laid in away from the whip over the final 200M.

SUPER HERO (KC Wong) was held up for clear running from the 100M until the finish of the race.

Jockey S Anandan, the rider of POMP reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of POMP revealed that the gelding had returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of TRIPLE ONE STAR (App L De Souza) and SUPER HERO revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SPEEDY DEMON (S Salee) had bled and as such, the gelding will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

RACE 3 (R268)    ENRICH STAKES A (SW) – 1200m(lc) BOTTLEBRUSHES STAKES

GOLDEN SWORD, TERMS OF REFERENCE and ELUSIVE EMPEROR, both  course scratching as they had fever, sustained a cut to its off fore heel bulb  and a bruised off fore fetlock respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

GOLDEN TYCOON which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to race.

MR NEVERMIND (App S Hafis) jumped away awkwardly.

NOVA STRIKE (App L De Souza) had to be steadied racing to the 1000M to avoid the heels of STAR GENIUS (J Daniel).

ROYAL RULER (S Salee) laid out passing the 800M and as a result, MR NEVERMIND had to be steadied and was taken wider on the track.

Post-race veterinary examinations of RELAU STAR (S Anandan) and BRINGER OF WAR (App CK Khaw) revealed no obvious abnormality.

JACKS SECRET and DON’T FORGET THIS, both  course scratching as they had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock  and a bruised near hind cannon respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

SANGKURIANG which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to race.

GOLDEN EMPIRE (App S Saddam) and MOON BABY (HS Gill) were examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and were passed fit to start.

NOVA DASHING (J De Souza) stood when the gates were released and was slow to begin.

ROSES FOR ME (KC Wong) was slow into stride.

CALM AND TRANQUIL (App CK Khaw) jumped away awkwardly and bumped COLORADO PRINCE (S Anandan).

GOLDEN EMPIRE jumped away awkwardly and bumped QUASAR (App P Mogun) and shortly thereafter, QUASAR was taken in by SANGKURIANG (WK Yan).  As a consequence, GOLDEN EMPIRE lost its position.

NOVA DASHING raced wide from the 800M until entering the straight.

Jockey S Anandan, the rider of COLORADO PRINCE reported that his mount was making respiratory noises.  A post-race veterinary examination of COLORADO PRINCE revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockeys J Daniel and  HS Gill, the riders of ONE MORE ACHIEVER and MOON BABY, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of ONE MORE ACHIEVER revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and MOON BABY revealed no obvious abnormality.  ONE MORE ACHIEVER will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

POWER EXPRESS (HS Gill) steadied shortly after the start to avoid the heels of NOVA PHOENIX (App CK Khaw).

Jockey J Chuah, the rider of RAMIFICATIONS reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of RAMIFICATION revealed no obvious abnormality.

RAMIFICATIONS and POWER EXPRESS which both raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of GOLD POWER (KC Wong) and ONE O NINE (App S Saddam) revealed no obvious abnormality.

JETSTAR EAGLE, a  course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Acting on veterinary advice that LIM’S FAIRLY (App R Nuqman) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.35pm.   The mare will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

GOLDEN CRAFTSMAN (App P Haris) which was fractious in the barrier, have to be removed from its barrier and after veterinary examination, was passed fit to start.

TOP TURF (App SN Shiva) was tightened at the start, when GLORY AGE (HK Cheng) jumped awkwardly in and NAPOLEON (App S Saddam) jumped awkwardly out.

Jockey O Chavez, the rider of COMMODORE LINCOLN reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of COMMODORE LINCOLN revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of Q NINE MAGIC reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of Q NINE MAGIC revealed no obvious abnormality.

As App P Haris has ridden his 10th winner on NORTHERN KNIGHT, he will be entitled to claim 3kgs with effect from Monday, 24th February 2020.

The saddle on KING POWER (CK Tan) slipped back on jumping.

BELLA VELOCE (App P Haris) had to be steadied shortly after the start to avoid the heels of PARTY GIRL (HS Gill).

App P Haris, the rider of BELLA VELOCE reported that his saddle slipped back at about the 400M, placing him at a disadvantage in riding the mare out.

A post-race veterinary examination of BELLA VELOCE revealed no obvious abnormality.

HAPPY START and WINNING STAR which were down 17kgs and 16kgs respectively in body weight since their last run, were examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to race.

TWENTYSIXTWELVE (App P Mogun) jumped awkwardly and threw its head up, striking App P Mogun on his face and was inconvenienced for some distance thereafter.

SILVER POWER (App M Lukman) jumped away awkwardly.

The saddle on TAN’S MAESTRO (WK Yan) slipped back during the running.

HAPPY START (J De Souza) had to steady passing the 250M to avoid the heels of POWERFUL STAR (HS Gill) which shifted out.

A post-race veterinary examination of SILVER POWER revealed no obvious abnormality.

PERAK FEBRUARY MEETING 2020

The report dated 23rd  February 2020 (V20/06) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 97 coded blood samples were received from the above mentioned race meeting for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.   All samples were analyzed and none failed the pre-race testing criteria.
