RACE 1 (R728)         CLASS 5(B) – 1200M (lc)    

IMMORTALITY which was down 19kg in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

COLORADO PRINCE (AM Aizat) jumped away awkwardly.

IMMORTALITY (M Ganeesh) was slow into stride.

Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of COLORADO PRINCE reported that his mount was making respiratory noises.  A post-race veterinary examination of COLORADO PRINCE revealed that the gelding returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey M Ganeesh, the rider of IMMORTALITY reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of IMMORTALITY revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that PURAVI (J Chuah) had collapsed on returning to the parade ring and died.  A post-mortem will be conducted.

RACE 2 (R729)         CLASS 5(A) – 1200M (lc)          

MORE THAN FAST, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off hind pastern, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The saddle on HAPPY START (J Low) slipped backwards during the running of the race.

THUNDERSTRUCK (C Goon) laid in passing the 50M and brushed KEEN DRAGON (AM Aizat).

App S Saddam, the rider of YOU ARE GENIUS reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of YOU ARE GENIUS revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that FIELD FORCE (AK Lim) had bled and as such, will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that ELAINE LOVER (HS Gill) returned having cast its off fore plate.

BALL AND CHAIN (App S Saddam) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

Light rain fell during and prior to the running of this race.

SHENBAO (App P Haris) was slow into stride.

ALL SERENE (App S Hafis) raced wide from the 800M until entering the straight.

App CK Khaw, the rider of KUTTNER reported that his mount could not handle the going.

A post-race veterinary examination of SHENBAO revealed no obvious abnormality.

The state of track was down-graded to ‘soft’ after the running of this race.

 ASIAN JET (WK Yan) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.

RACING MAN (SS Vanan) raced wide from the 800M until the 500M.

NAPOLEON (App S Hafis) and JETSTAR EAGLE (R Rueven) laid out over the concluding stages, finishing wider on the track.

All riders returned an average of 1.5kgs over.

App S Saddam and I Firdzriel, the riders of ONE O NINE and CAVATINA both reported that their mounts did not handle the going today.

RACE 5 (R732)         CLASS 5(A) –  1400M (lc)            

ASIAN TIGER, which was down 32kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

This race was run in steady rain.

GOOD DEAL (M Ganeesh), DON’T FORGET THIS (M Yusri), ARTEMISTER (App I Firdzriel) and GLORY AGE (R Rueven) were all slow into stride.

All riders returned an average of 2kgs over.

After the running of this race, the Panel of Stewards heard representations from a delegation of Jockeys who had ridden in the above race regarding the track condition and visibility due to the inclement weather and that the rider group did not want to continue racing. The Panel of Stewards also considered a representation of the Trainers with runners in Race 6 and after further discussion it was agreed to reschedule Race 6 to 3.50pm. At 3.25pm the rider group agreed to ride in Race 6.

RACE 6 (R733)         CLASS 5(A) – 1400M (sc)    

QUASAR, AMAZING DRAGON and D’GREAT ACHIEVER, all course scratchings as they had sustained sole bruised off fore, sore back and bruised near fore pastern respectively, each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of GOOD TASTE at 12.34pm, acting on veterinary advice that the gelding had suffered corneal ulcer in its right eye.  GOOD TASTE will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Due to the rain and inclement weather, the start of this race was re-scheduled 30 minutes later to commence at 3.50pm.

All riders returned an average of 0.5kgs over.

After the running of this race, the Panel of Stewards heard representations from a delegation of Jockeys who had ridden in the above race regarding the track condition and visibility due to the continuing inclement weather.   After considering their opinion regarding their safety and poor visibility, the Panel of Stewards decided to abandon Race 7 to Race 10 at 4.10pm.

PERAK SEPTEMBER MEETING 2020- 1ST DAY, SUNDAY, 20TH SEPTEMBER 2020

The Panel of Stewards ordered the withdrawal of thirteen (13) horses from Penang Turf Club based on the advice given by the Penang Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) as follow: –

STEWARDS’ INSPECTIONS

The Panel of Stewards conducted an inspection of the PRTC’s Jockeys Room today, Sunday, 20th September 2020.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, both Jockeys J Low and M Ganeesh were charged for misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 106(5) in that they were found to be in possession of a handphone each in the Jockeys Room which was specified as a restricted area by the Perak Turf Club, during a routine inspection by the Panel of Stewards at 12.08pm.   They were fined RM500/- each and were informed of their rights of appeal (12.18pm)

LADY LAKSHIMI, a course scratching as it had sustained sore back, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

RACE 9 (R736)         CLASS 4(B) –   1200M (sc)        

JULIUS CAESAR and LUKE MAN, both course scratching as they have sustained a bruised off fore cannon and bruised near fore fetlock respectively, each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
