RACE 1 (R790)  CLASS 4 – 1400m(lc)

NOTHING TO LOSE and JOYFUL, both course scratching as they were both sustained bruised off fore fetlock,  will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

BATTLE HORSE (Z Khairil) was slow into stride.

LISBOA STAR (App CK Khaw) raced wide from the 800M until entering the straight.

Racing to the 300M, STREET OF LONDON (A Aucharuz) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of WINNING TANGO (M Zairi) and shifted out to obtain clear running.

Post-race veterinary examinations of LISBOA STAR and STREET OF LONDON revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that STREET OF LONDON returned having cast its near fore plate and US DOLLAR  (M Ganeesh) returned having cast its off fore plate.

Prior to the “All Clear” being given, an objection was lodged by App KC Wong, the rider of COMMON SENSE placed 4th against US DOLLAR, the 3rd place-getter on grounds of alleged interference at the 200M.   After considering all the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race.  The objection was overruled and the Judges’ results stood.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey M Ganeesh, the rider of US DOLLAR was found guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding US DOLLAR from the 100M, he permitted his mount to shift outwards when insufficiently clear of COMMON SENSE (App KC Wong), resulting in COMMON SENSE having to check and lose ground.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey M Ganeesh’s disciplinary record and mitigating factors.  Jockey M Ganeesh was suspended from riding in races for a period of 2 Malaysian race days, effective from Monday, 25th June 2018 and to expire on Sunday, 8th July 2018, both dates inclusive.  He was advised of his right of appeal (2.45pm).

RAINBOW FISH (App CK Khaw) raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.

Prior to the ‘All Clear”, the Panel of Stewards reviewed the start of the race and were satisfied that FIRST FORTUNE (A Aucharuz) stood and refused to jump when the gates were released and therefore, was declared a runner.   Due to its adverse history, FIRST FORTUNE is suspended from racing for a period of three (3) months and will be required to pass two (2) consecutive starting stall tests at weekly intervals before being declared to race again.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey Lou Ho, the rider of ARIEL pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding ARIEL from about the 800M, he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of PREMIUM STARS (J Low) causing that horse to be checked.

Acting on the provisions of MRA Rule 48(5), the Panel of Stewards deferred the commencement of Jockey Lou Ho’s suspension to take effect from Monday, 2nd July 2018.
