RACE 1 (R1265)  CLASS 4(B)  – 1100m(str) – BATU GAJAH HERITAGE TRAIL HANDICAP

SONNY BILL  which was down 29kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

Trainer K Coetzee was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for presenting SONNY BILL (HS Gill) without the shadow-roll as declared.

SURE WIN (R Rueven) was slow to begin.

PACHELBEL’S CANON (M Hanif) jumped away awkwardly.

SONNY BILL showed no early pace despite being urged.

CHERISH (App CK Khaw) was disappointed for a run over the final 50M.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ASPREY (App I Firdzriel) and SUPER DRAGON (Z Khairil)  revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of SURE WIN and BIG BOSS (J Chuah) revealed that both these geldings returned having bled and as such, they will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months each under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will each be required to pass a Bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BIG BOSS returned having cast its near fore plate.

RACE 2 (R1266)  CLASS 4(A)  – 1100m(str) – BANDING ISLAND HANDICAP

MULTIBLUE EAGLE and LUKE MAN, both course scratching as they had ulcer in its left eye and sustained a bruised off fore sole respectively,  will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

PROVOCATEUR (Z Khairil) reared when the gates were released and was awkwardly away into stride.

ACE KING (R Rueven) had to be steadied racing to the 700M to avoid the heels of DIVERGENT (M Yusri) which rolled out.

ACE KING rolled out in the 300M and as a result, DIVERGENT had to be steadied.

Post-race veterinary examinations of FAT POWER (J Low), PROVOCATEUR and TRIPLE ONE D’GREAT (App L De Souza) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 3 (R1267)  CLASS 5(B)– 1000m(sc) – BUKIT LARUT HILL HANDICAP

SUPER GOOD, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore tendon and suspensory, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

HANDSOME BOSS was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 2.15pm acting on veterinary advice that the gelding had sustained a cut to its near hind fetlock.  HANDSOME BOSS will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

CASPER (App J Daniel) was slow into stride.

D’GREAT ELEGANCE (App KC Wong) had to be steadied shortly after the start to avoid the heels of LEE’S SURPRISE (SS Vanan).

THONG’S JIAQING (SU Lim) raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.

Apprentices CK Khaw and J Daniel, riders of MR NO PROBLEM and CASPER respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.   Post-race veterinary examinations of MR NO PROBLEM and CASPER revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of D’GREAT ELEGANCE and THONG’S JIAQING  revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R1268)  CLASS 5(B)- 1400m(sc) – GAHARU TEA VALLEY GOPENG HANDICAP

DAWN PROSPECT which was up 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

RUSH was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 1.16pm, as the gelding’s status for Equine Influenza/EHV vaccination had expired.  Trainer KF Wong was fined RM1,000/- in terms of MRA Regulation 20.3.1 as read with MRA Regulation 20.6.

ROYAL CHOICE (HK Cheng) was examined by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and passed fit to start.

DON’T FORGET THIS (App KC Wong) was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 3.20pm acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was lame near hind and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.

FIRST OPTION (J Low) which was fractious and was difficult to be loaded, was withdrawn by order of the Panel of Stewards at 3.25pm.  The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

RED EASTERN (HS Gill) and SING EXPRESS (CK Tan) were both slow into stride.

Jockeys R Rueven and M Hanif, the riders of GOLDEN EMPIRE and NO NONSENSE respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.   Post-race veterinary examinations of GOLDEN EMPIRE and NO NONSENSE revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of DAWN PROSPECT and RED EASTERN revealed no obvious abnormality.

MAXIM DRAGON which was up 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of JACKWIN reported that his mount was not striding out freely.   A post-race veterinary examination of JACKWIN revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of RACE FOR FAME (App P Mogun) and  TRAVERTINE (Z Khairil) revealed no obvious abnormality and SUVARNABHUMI (J Chuah) had returned with respiratory distress.  As such, SUVARNABHUMI will be required to pass a  test (1000M & vet exam) before being declared to race again.

RACE 6 (R1270)   CLASS 4(B) – 1400m (sc) – BERUAS MUSEUM HANDICAP

BRISTOL DIAMOND (HS Gill) checked shortly after the start when LION CONQUEROR (R Rueven) jumped away awkwardly and shifted in.

WAR LORD (S Anandan) raced wide from the 800M until entering the straight.

Jockey S Sandana, the rider of STIRLING reported that his mount was not striding out freely.   Post-race veterinary examinations of STIRLING, LIVELY DRAGON (SU Lim) and WAR LORD (S Anandan) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that LIVELY DRAGON returned having cast both fore plates.

GENERAL REPORT – SLTC

TUESDAY, 9 OCTOBER 2018, SLTC OFFICIAL BARRIER TEST

A veterinary examination of SCOTTIE (N60) revealed that it was exhibiting signs of respiratory distress, and as such will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.


TUESDAY, 9 OCTOBER 2018, SLTC OFFICIAL BARRIER PRACTICE

A veterinary examination revealed that RAINBOW CENTRE (W156) bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3), and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.


RACE 9 (R1234) CLASS 5 (B) – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A), SATURDAY, 6 OCTOBER 2018, SELANGOR TURF CLUB OCTOBER MEETING 2018

The RM250/- fine which was imposed on Trainer F Maynard (TOOBIGTOFAIL) for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a), was rescinded.


RACE 3 (R1238) OPEN NOVICE (SW) – 1200M (SHORT COURSE A), A NEW MALAYSIA STAKES, SUNDAY, 7 OCTOBER 2018, SELANGOR TURF CLUB OCTOBER MEETING 2018

Trainer MP Thwaites was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on ITALIAN MASTER (S Anandan).

GENERAL REPORT – PNTC

POST-RACE URINE:

22nd SEPTEMBER 2018

PENANG TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2018

The report dated 9th October 2018 (V18/110.1) from the Chief Analyst of USains Biomics Laboratory stated that 49 bottles of coded urine samples and 53 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 24th September 2018 for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations.  No prohibited substances were detected.

GENERAL REPORT – PRTC

Trainer Evert Van Breukelen was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 152(5)(b) for failing to ensure that his staff obeys the Club’s Official orders regarding the use of the horse swimming pool.
