COLORADO PRINCE (App S Saddam) shifted out on jumping away and crowded QUEEN FORCE (HK Cheng) which had to check and lost its position.

ULTIMATE HERO (App R Ruwaidy) jumped away awkwardly.

COLORADO PRINCE had to be checked racing to the 800M when it laid out onto the heels of DAWN PROSPECT (F Yap) and as a consequence, when being checked, COLORADO PRINCE shifted out and bumped EMPIRE BAY (AK Lim).

EMPIRE BAY had to check to avoid the heels of FORTUNE SPIRIT (S Anandan) racing to the 600M when FORTUNE SPIRIT rolled in.

Approaching the 100M, ARTEMISTER (App P Mogun) shifted out and bumped SONIC-X (Z Khairil).

Jockey S Anandan, the rider of FORTUNE SPIRIT reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of FORTUNE SPIRIT revealed no obvious abnormality.

Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of SONIC-X placed 4th against ARTEMISTER (App P Mogun), being declared the winner on grounds of alleged interference inside the final 200M.   After considering all the evidence, the Panel of Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race.  The objection was overruled and the results stood.

At the conclusion of an inquiry today, App P Mogun, the rider of ARTEMISTER pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that over the final 100M, he shifted out when insufficiently clear of SONIC-X, resulting in SONIC-X having to check and shift ground inwards to obtain clear running.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration App P Mogun’s guilty plea and mitigating factors.   App P Mogun was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, effective from Monday, 19th August 2019 and to expire on 25th August 2019, both dates inclusive.   He was advised of his right of appeal (3.55pm)

Post-race veterinary examinations of EMPIRE BAY and ULTIMATE HERO revealed no obvious abnormality.

 GENERAL REPORT – SLTC

RACE 10 (R1014)CLASS 5 (A) – 1400M (SHORT COURSE A), SUNDAY, 11 AUGUST 2019, SELANGOR TURF CLUB AUGUST MEETING 2019

The Stewards, on 13 August 2019 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into the riding of NOVA DASHING. Evidence was taken from Jockey AK Lim and Trainer S Siva, the rider and trainer of NOVA DASHING respectively.

When questioned, Trainer S Siva advised that after NOVA DASHING’s win on 23 June 2019, the horse had injured its forehead and had subsequently missed considerable work for about 9 months thereafter. Further, it had been ascertained that NOVA DASHING suffered from ulcers and had been medicated accordingly. He also said that he expected NOVA DASHING would take up a prominent position and hopefully lead, although having a wide barrier. He had been very disappointed in the performance of the gelding.

After assessing NOVA DASHING’s work regime and particularly its last piece of work on Wednesday, 31 July 2019, the Stewards instructed that NOVA DASHING be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again for having performed poorly. Further, both Trainer S Siva and Jockey AK Lim would be expected to give correct and concise evidence to all Stipendiary Stewards’ inquiries in future.

TUESDAY, 13 AUGUST 2019, SLTC OFFICIAL BARRIER TRIAL

CHAMPION FACE which played up in the barrier, will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again.

RACE 1 (R801)         CLASS 5(A) – 1400m(lc)         LABU LABU 2002 HANDICAP

CHERISH, a course scratching as it had fever, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

KEEN DRAGON (Z Khairil) jumped away awkwardly.

DARCI SUPER (App S Hafis) and ROSES FOR ME (HS Gill) bumped on jumping away.

PARAGON STAR (SU Lim) shifted in racing to the 800M, resulting in HAPPY VALLEY (App I Firdzriel) being taken inwards, making contact with ROSES FOR ME, resulting in ROSES FOR ME being taken in, causing D’GREAT TALENT (R Shafiq), which was over-racing, had to be steadied.

KEEN DRAGON raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.

HAPPY VALLEY laid in under pressure passing the 100M.

Jockey WK Yan, the rider of MORE THAN FAST reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of MORE THAN FAST which raced poorly, revealed no obvious abnormality.   The gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ROSES FOR ME and HAPPY VALLEY revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an inquiry today, Jockey SU Lim, the rider of PARAGON STAR pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that passing the 300M, he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of BM POWER (HK Cheng), resulting in BM POWER having to check and change course to obtain a clear running.

In assessing the penalty, the Panel of Stewards took into consideration Jockey SU Lim’s guilty plea, disciplinary record and mitigating factors.   He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days.

Acting on the provisions of MRA Rule 48(5), the Panel of Stewards deferred the commencement of Jockey SU Lim’s suspension to take effect from Monday, 8th July 2019 and to expire on Saturday, 20th July 2019, both dates inclusive.  He was advised of his right of appeal (1.28pm).
