Yes Man (4ch.a.g Yes Yes Yes – Caesar’s Princess by Exceed And Excel)

After an up-and-down first half of the season, Yes Man has hit a positive patch and career best form.

His scintillating win in the Class 2 – 1200m handicap at Sungai Besi today was his third on the trot, defying a promotion after two impressive wins in Class 3 recently.

Yes, the son of Yes Yes Yes did win three races earlier in the year and ran third to Elite Prince in the Three-Year-Old Sprint. But, there were also some dismal showings in which he finished at the tailend of the field.

However, things started to turn around for Yes Man in August with two good placings that month before he hit the right note to win over 1020m on the No. 2 track the following month.

Yes Man resumed two months later to score again over the same course and distance two weeks ago, romping home by four lengths.

That earned him a promotion but with a drop of 4kg in the weights (to 54kg) today, punters went to town to send Yes Man out the even-money favourite although he was coming up against some pretty smart gallopers.

Bransom was the first to break but Yes Man quickly took up the running to lead from Platinum Fort and Man Man Lai. Bransom settled fourth, ahead of Faithful Leader, Calvary and Super Happy.

Yes Man led into the straight just ahead of Platinum Fort. Bransom closed in third followed by Man Man Lai and Calvary.

Yes Man soon pulled away from the rest to lead by three lengths at the 200m, keeping up a bright the rest of the way to win by that margin. Bransom finished second with Calvary third.

Yes Man landed in the country unraced and has now picked up seven wins in 17 starts.

Also on the upgrade is Hasten.

Hasten (5b.a.g Hellbent – Circle Game by Snitzel) winning for the fifth time this season

Amongst five horses vying for the early lead in the Class 3 – 1200m handicap, the Hellbent galloper and Never Ask More eventually broke away and led from Sincefoon Hero.

Hasten and Never Ask More matched strides into the straight followed by Sincefoon Hero. After being in midfield early, Valois made a forward move around the home bend to be fourth going into the straight.

Hasten beat off Never Ask More at the 250m and soon held a clear lead. Sincefoon Hero and Valois chased him home but to no avail. Hasten won by two lengths.

Hasten won twice in 12 starts at Kranji but has picked up five wins in 15 runs in Malaysia.
