KUALA LUMPUR:  Dec 10, 2023

Placed just once in nine runs in Singapore, DABBLE has made a successful switch to racing in Malaysia and is in fact thriving in the country.

The New Zealand gelding broke through for his maiden win in December last year in his third start in the country.

The son of Pure Champion went on to make rapid progress with five more wins this season.

DABBLE led all the way in a Class 3 – 1075m sprint on the No. 2 track here five weeks ago and repeated the feat today when he battled to a narrow win in s similar event.

Whereas he made all the running last time out, DABBLE settled behind the fast pace set by BRAVE WARRIOR and second favourite HEART OF FIRE.

DABBLE raced past the tiring front runners passing the 150m and quickly drew away. But SKYLIGHT flashed home in the closing stages to make it a an exciting finish. DABBLE held on to win by a short head.

“They went out fast in front and that suited us,” said Harmeet Singh Gill who has now won four times on the gelding since his transfer to Sharee Hamilton last May. “He won well and is improving.”

“DABBLE continues to impress me,” said Hamilton.

“Today’s pace was very fast, leaving him in a position where he’s not normally in. He loves to be out in front so coming from third impressed me. He’s a nice sprinter to have in the stable.”

DABBLE has now won six times in 13 starts in Malaysia.
