KUALA LUMPUR:  Jan 23, 2022

STREETS OF FIRE was in superb form last year just before Covid-19 restrictions forced a temporary halt to racing for several months.

The New Zealand mare scored a runaway win in Class 4 and defied a promotion to win again last May 29, on the final weekend of racing before a four-month break.

On resuming, STREETS OF FIRE failed to make any impression first-up when she was sent over 1100m, having won all her previous races over 1300m and 1400m.

STREETS OF FIRE appreciated the longer trip when she easily won over 1400m on this track last month and at Sungei Besi today, the mare defied a promotion again when she easily accounted for a Class 2 over 1300m.
It was her sixth win in 15 starts.

Apprentice Lukman Mohamed struck up an instant winning partnership with TOUCH THE CLOUDS when he piloted the Captain Sonodor gelding to victory last April, with the Australian gelding completing a hattrick after failing to show up in ten runs at Kranji.

TOUCH THE CLOUDS has been unplaced in four starts since but with Lukman back in the saddle again today, the seven-year-old came from well off the pace to score a three-length victory in the Class 3 – 1400m handicap.

TOUCH THE CLOUDS started racing only as a four-year-old but was pretty useful with four wins and four placings in 14 starts in Australia before landing in Singapore.
