Laercio Pereira de Souza, who turned professional this season, marked his first senior year with his 150th and 151st winners at Sungei Besi here today, and will not be entitled to any claim from Monday onwards.

The Brazilian, younger brother of top jockey Jose, had an armchair ride on OISIN EXPRESS in the Open Maiden event over 1400m when the Argentinean gelding romped home by 6 1/4 lengths after making all the running. Race Video

Laercio then had another comfortable win astride MR CONNERY in a Class 5 – 1500m handicap, winning by two lengths. Race Video

The 10-year-old has now picked up eight wins in Singapore and Malaysia, with Laercio winning thrice and Jose twice.

Both OISIN EXPRESS and MR CONNERY are trained by Laercio’s former master Richard Lines.
