SELANGOR TURF CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING 2022

RACE 3 (R165)         CLASS 5 (A) – 1300M (LONG COURSE)  WISHES COME TRUE STAKES 

After considering evidence from App A Suriya (YES BOSSY), in the presence of his Employing Trainer’s representative, Trainer SY Lim, and also Trainer KF Coetzee, the Stewards found App A Suriya guilty of a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge being:

1. His riding in the straight lacked any vigour and purpose; and
2. He took YES BOSSY inwards near the 300M and thereby, ran onto the heels of ROYAL FLUSH when he was in a position prior to this to take YES BOSSY to the outside to obtain a clear passage.

The Stewards took into consideration App A Suriya’s riding record, mitigating factors and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months, to be deferred, with effect from 7 February 2022 and to expire on 6 May 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 5 (R167)         CLASS 4 (A) – 1600M (LONG COURSE) BEST OF LUCK STAKES 

*On inquiry, App R Nuqman (BANG BANG) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting in at this stage. In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App R Nuqman’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 7 February 2022 and to expire on 13 February 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

*On inquiry, Jockey J De Souza (LUCKY TIGER), pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting in at this stage. In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey J De Souza’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 7 February 2022 and to expire on 13 February 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

*On inquiry, Jockey L De Souza (CHER), pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting out at this stage. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 7 February 2022 and to expire on 13 February 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 9 (R171)         OPEN NOVICE – 1100M (SHORT COURSE)  BRIGHT FUTURE STAKES 

*On inquiry, Jockey Y Aify (JAPAN CAPTAIN) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) for shifting in at this stage. In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey Y Aify’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 7 February 2022 and to expire on 13 February 2022, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
