RACE 1 (R0493) CLASS 4(A) – 1100m (str) DANCING LADY HANDICAP
HEARTS OF GOLD, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near knee, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Trainer I Ismadi was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of blinkers on VINCENT’S STAR within the stipulated time.
Trainer K Coetzee was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours on PEER GYNT.
STARLIGHT GLIMMER (S Ruzaini) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
LUPIN (HS Gill) and GEORGETOWN (App Z Syafifie) shifted in from the whip whilst STAR GLORY (App P Haris) shifted out from the whip in the later stages.

RACE 2 (R0494) CLASS 5 (A) – 1600m (lc) CALLA LILY HANDICAP
D’GREAT MAGIC and DISCRETELY RED, both are course scratching. D’GREAT MAGIC had sustained an injury in the float whilst DISCRETELY RED had sustained sore back. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Acting on veterinary advice that VILLAGE TYCOON (KC Tham) was lame off fore and SOON YOU THINK (J Daniel) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered their withdrawals at 1.28pm. Both these geldings will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
CIRCUIT STAR (HS Gill) over-raced in the early stages.
LANKARAN (S Ruzaini) was hanging out in the straight.
Jockey Y Aify, the rider of THE JEWELLER reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of THE JEWELLER revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of MASTER JIANGMEN (S Hafis) revealed that the gelding had bled and as such, it will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter, will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

RACE 3 (R0495) CLASS 5(B) – 1600m (lc) LAVENDER HANDICAP
Upon jumping, MAGICAL PARK (S Hafis) was momentarily inconvenienced when SIR ELTON (Y Aify) jumped awkwardly inwards.
BULL RUN (J Daniel) jumped awkwardly.
SIR ELTON had a tendency to lay inwards in the later stages.
App R Nuqman, the rider of JJ STAR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of JJ STAR revealed that the gelding had returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
A post-race veterinary examination of SHYLOCK (HS Gill) revealed that the gelding had returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported INTROIT (KC Low) had returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 4 (R0496) CLASS 4 (B) – 1300m (lc) CARNATION HANDICAP
ZAC ACE, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised near fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MASTER BABY (KC Low) jumped awkwardly, clipping the heels of STRONG N POWERFUL (WW Cheah). In this incident, Jockey KC Low lost the use of his near side iron for some distance and he managed to re-gain it thereafter.
A post-race veterinary examination of SEAMLESSLY (App SN Shiva) revealed no obvious abnormality and this gelding was impounded.

RACE 5 (R0497) CLASS 5(A) 1300m (lc) BIRD OF PARADISE HANDICAP
THUNDERGOD, JULIUS CAESAR, BEIHAI TURBO and STARHARMONY all are course scratching. THUNDERGOD had sustained a bruised off fore foot. JULIUS CAESAR had sustained bruised both fore fetlocks. BEIHAI TURBO and STARHARMONY had sustained bruised off hind fetlock. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
FIRE AWAY (S Ruzaini) was examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
In the concluding stages, an objection was lodged by Jockey L De Souza, the rider of the 2nd–placed TURF PRINCESS, against STRAIGHT N ARROW (J Daniel) being declared the winner on grounds of interference in the later stages. After consideration, the Panel of Stewards overruled the objection and confirmed the results as declared by the Judge. Furthermore, Jockey L De Souza was warned that in future, he must ensure that he has got sufficient grounds of objection before making a decision, failing which, he may be charged and fined in terms of MRA Rule 122(3).
App SN Shiva, the rider of AMORE AMORE was dislodged on pulling up. He was exempted from weighing-in and was sent to the hospital for observations.
Post-race veterinary examinations of ORDOS LEGEND (HS Gill) and FIRE AWAY revealed no obvious abnormality.
After the running of this race, the state of track was upgraded to “Good.”

RACE 6 (R0498) CLASS 5 (B) –1300m (lc) LANTANA HANDICAP
Emergency acceptors PENANG STAR and YULONG DREAM were withdrawn due to capacity field.
NOVA PHOENIX which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
The Panel of Stewards permitted App Z Syafifie to replace App SN Shiva as the rider of ULURU when the latter was certified unwell for the remainder of the day.
THAI BAHT (S Hafis) was slow into stride.
At approximately the 600M-mark, AUSSIE EAGLE (S Ruzaini) was crowded when racing tight on the inside of WINNING SMILE (J Daniel), which was racing tight on the inside of USA CAPTAIN (HS Gill). In this incident, AUSSIE EAGLE struck the inside running rails, losing some ground. In this incident, the saddle on AUSSIE EAGLE slipped back. The Stewards deemed this to be a racing incident and were unable to blame any one particular rider or horse. However, Jockeys HS Gill, the rider of USA CAPTAIN and J Daniel, the rider of WINNING SMILE were shown the video of this incident and were both warned that in future, they must ensure that they give sufficient room to runners on their inside.
Passing the 450M-mark, RAINBOW FISH (KP Lim) was inconvenienced when MGR ROCKET (App A Azizi) rolled in.
NOVA PHOENIX (HK Cheng) was drifting in under the whip in the concluding stages.

RACE 7 (R0499) CLASS 5 (A) – 1100m (sc) ADENIUM HANDICAP
YES BOSSY (HS Gill) which was unable to be boxed, was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 4.06pm and the gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
SAFE JOURNEY (KP Lim) obliged to race wide on the turn.
At approximately 600M-mark, BINTANG TIMOR (App R Nuqman) was crowded and had to steady when KNIGHT LOVE (S Hafis) rolled inwards.
Jockeys J Daniel and S Ruzaini, the riders of ELITE SAINT and SHINE SHINE respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of ELITE SAINT revealed no obvious abnormality and SHINE SHINE returned lame off fore. As such, SHINE SHINE will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SAFE JOURNEY returned having cast its off fore plate.

RACE 8 (R0500) CLASS 5 (B) – 1100m (sc) GERBERA HANDICAP
Trainer S Shanmugam, the trainer of THE SWAN advised the Stewards that he had changed the tactics and that today, he had instructed the rider, App R Nuqman to try and ride from a midfield position, as opposed to a forward race, which he had failed previously with.
TILSWORTH MALI (S Hafis) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.
App H Haikal and Jockey J Daniel, the riders of NATUREISSPEAKING and DIAMOND SET respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of NATUREISSPEAKING revealed no obvious abnormality and DIAMOND SET returned with respiratory distress. As such, DIAMOND SET will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

The report dated 9th May 2024 (V24/066) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 26 coded urine and 28 sets of coded blood samples from the above- mentioned race meeting were received on 27th April 2024, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
