When questioned regarding the improved form of the gelding, Trainer HY Cheng advised that it was only its third run for him and he was surprised as to the gelding’s improvement. He could only suggests that the addition of the tongue-tie may have suited the gelding better.

The State of Track was upgraded to “Good” after the running of this Race.

Trainer and rider questioned regarding the performance of the gelding. *(See Report). Vet inspection: No significant finding.

Vet inspection: Cut on the near fore – Vet exam.

Trainer R Lines and App WW Cheah were questioned regarding the performance of SYMBOL OF COURAGE. Trainer R Lines stated that he had instructed the gelding be ridden with cover in a forward position as it had failed to finish its races off when leading or racing prominently without cover.

App WW Cheah concurred with these instructions but stated that although jumping well, he had restrained SYMBOL OF COURAGE in an attempt to gain cover. The gelding had over-raced considerably and had lost its position when several horses improved on its inside. He further stated that the gelding had not finished the race off, having raced so fiercely. The Stewards advised Trainer R Lines to engage a senior rider on the gelding in future.

The Selangor Turf Club Appeal Panel heard the above appeal on 2 June 2022 (Thursday).

Upon consideration, the Panel allowed the appeal and directed the deposit to be refunded.

The Selangor Turf Club Appeal Panel heard the above appeal on 2 June 2022 (Thursday).

The Appeal Panel heard submissions from App R Nuqman, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, Mr. BT Lim, and the SLTC Chief Stipendiary Steward. 

 Upon consideration, the Panel allowed the appeal and directed the deposit to be refunded.

The report dated 9 June 2022 (V22/088) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 27 coded urine and 27 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 4 June 2022, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
