RACE 1 (R477)         CLASS 5 (B) – 1500M (LONG COURSE) 

LIM’S MASTER (App A Zaimuddin) which was standing awkwardly, reared and lost considerable ground. Trainer BT Lim was advised that LIM’S MASTER will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again.

In the middle stages, COMMODORE LINCOLN (Y Aify) raced wide and this caused AMI ELEVEN (S Ruzaini) to be trapped on its outside and raced wider.

A post-race veterinary examination of LUCKY VICTORY (J Shankar) revealed that it returned exhibiting signs of respiratory distress and as such will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.

GORDON G (App WW Cheah) jumped badly, losing considerable ground. GORDON G will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again.

AUSSIE EAGLE (S Zulfikri) which was slow into stride, was ridden wide throughout.

Passing the 75M, SCOOBY DOOBY DOO (App S Uzair) shifted out, bumping BONSAI REN (J Low).

HAPPY START (App K Pavinthran) collapsed when pulling up and expired. A post-mortem examination of HAPPY START will be conducted.

RACE 3 (R479)         OPEN MAIDEN – 1600M (LONG COURSE)

SELANGOR ROCKET (App R Nuqman) was slow into stride.

After jumping slowly, SENA SIXTYNINE (App N Varmah) refused to be competitive. App N Varmah stated that although he urged SENA SIXTYNINE, the gelding was reluctant to gallop. A post-race veterinary examination of SENA SIXTYNINE revealed no significant finding. In light of its performance, SENA SIXTYNINE will be required to pass a 1000M/vet (from the Starting Stall) test before being declared to race again.

Near the 650M, STAY SOUND (App A Suriya) strode onto the heels of READY TO GOOD LUCK (S Ruzaini) and had to be restrained. HAPPY LUCKY STAR (App WW Cheah) which was following, was inconvenienced. App A Suriya was reminded of his obligations to maintain a safe distance from horses at all times.

RACE 4 (R480)         CLASS 4 (A) – 1600M (LONG COURSE)

SMART INVESTMENT (App K Pavinthran) dwelt when the start was effected, missing the start by a considerable margin and subsequently trailed the field. SMART INVESTMENT will be required to pass a 1000M/vet (from the Starting Stall) test before being declared to race again.

D’GREAT MAGIC (L De Souza) raced wide in middle stages.

BANG BANG (R Shafiq) was inclined to lay inwards from the 300M and had to be straightened on several occasions. BANG BANG was accidentally struck on the nose by the whip of App S Uzair (GOOD NEWS) approaching the winning post.

App S Uzair who rode his 40th winner on GOOD NEWS in this race, would only be entitled to claim 2kgs allowance as from Monday, 31 May 2021.

RACE 5 (R481)         CLASS 4 (A) – 1400M (LONG COURSE)

SAHM (Y Aify) cast its off fore plate and had to be reshod at the start. This necessitated a delay of four (4) minutes.

GUILTY PLEASURES (App A Suriya) and WALKING THUNDER (App S Uzair) were slow into stride.

In the early stages, GRAND KNIGHT (MM Firdaus) raced fiercely with its head in the air.

Approaching the 800M, BUFFALO SOLDIER (R Shafiq) had to be restrained when striding onto the heels of ISFAHAN (S Ruzaini) and shifted out, inconveniencing FIRST COMMAND (J Shankar) with SAHM having to be restrained and GUILTY PLEASURES taken extremely wide. GUILTY PLEASURES continued to race wide until straightening.

RACE 6 (R482)         SUPREME A – 1400M (LONG COURSE)

MR HANKS (R Shafiq) jumped outwards at the start, bumping STICK SEEKER (J Shankar).

SACRED TONIC (CK Khaw) was inclined to rear on jumping.

Near the 600M, READY TO ROCK (L De Souza) had to be eased when crossed by SHANGHAI NIGHTS (J Low). READY TO ROCK was then crowded at the 300M when HATTA (J Daniel) shifted out.

On straightening, ELITE EXCALIBUR (App R Nuqman) shifted outwards, bumping STICK SEEKER. App R Nuqman was warned that he must keep his mount straight.

RACE 7 (R483)         OPEN MAIDEN (WFA) – 1100M (SHORT COURSE)

As there was no other suitable rider available, the Stewards granted permission for Jockey CK Khaw to ride WATERMELON at 3kgs overweight at 51kgs.

WATERMELON (CK Khaw) reared at the start and veered inwards, bumping with JOJU (L De Souza).

THUNDERGOD (J De Souza) shifted inwards onto LIM’S OCEANIC (App R Nuqman) at the start.

After being slow to begin, TEMPTATIONS (App N Varmah) had to be steadied near the 1000M. TEMPTATIONS was then inclined to lay inwards in the straight.

Jockey J Low (ROYAL PRINCESS) was advised that he should desist from using his whip on horses which are clearly winning.

RACE 8 (R484)         CLASS 3 – 1100M (SHORT COURSE)

Acting on veterinary advice that MELTING POINT (J Low) was lame off fore, the gelding was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 4:13pm. MELTING POINT will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again. 

CRAZY DREAMS (App S Sia) raced wide in the middle stages.

A post-race veterinary examination of LARSON (R Shafiq) revealed no significant finding.

SECRET AGENT (Z Zuriman) returned with a laceration on the near hind. The gelding will be required to undergo a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

The Stewards questioned Jockey J De Souza (SORBETA) related to his riding of SORBETA. He stated SORBETA was unsuited at the 1100M and that he had been instructed to ride in a mid-to-back position. He believed that SORBETA had been out-paced in the early stages and had ridden the gelding vigourously in the straight. Whilst accepting this explanation in part, the Stewards reprimanded Jockey J De Souza for what they considered a lack of vigour and diligence in his ride of SORBETA particularly in the straight and advised that a repetition of a similar manner would lead to a charge being imposed.

RACE 9 (R485)         SUPREME A – 1100M (SHORT COURSE)

DISTINCTIVE DARCI (L De Souza) veered outwards at the start, bumping BUENOS AIRES (R Shafiq) which lost ground.

VIOLET (App R Nuqman) and BUENOS AIRES raced wide in the middle stages.

CONSTANT JUSTICE (HS Gill) returned with an injury to its near fore heel bulb. The gelding will be required to undergo a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of MR CROWE (S Ruzaini) revealed no significant finding.

RAKAMA (S Ruzaini) was slow to begin, losing considerable ground. Trainer HY Cheng was advised that RAKAMA will be required to pass 1 Starting Stall test before being declared to race again.

D’GREAT BOSS (R Shafiq) jumped awkwardly.

BLUE HAWAII (App N Varmah) was crowded shortly after the start, losing ground.

App S Uzair (THANK YOU BOSS) dropped his whip at about 100M. He was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a)

A post-race veterinary examination of ELITE GENERAL (App A Zaimuddin) revealed that it was lame near fore and as such will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again.

A post-race veterinary examination of BAKUTEH (HS Gill) revealed no significant finding.

Acting on veterinary advice that WINTERFELL had sustained a float injury to its off hind leg, the gelding was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 4:15pm. WINTERFELL will be required to undergo a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

GOLDEN TOUCH (J Low) veered outwards at the start, inconveniencing UPTOWN GIRL (J Daniel).

FLASH ONE (MM Firdaus) and MAINDANZ BEAUTY (App Clyde Leck) raced wide in the middle stages.

Passing the 150M, MAIDANZ BEAUTY steadied when crossed by UPTOWN GIRL. Jockey J Daniel (UPTOWN GIRL) was reprimanded for failing to straighten when UPTOWN GIRL shifted in at this stage.

BEAUTIFUL ONE (App S Uzair) returned with a cut to its near hind leg and MAIDANZ BEAUTY returned with a cut to its off hind leg. Both horses will each be required to undergo a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC

SUNDAY, 30 MAY 2021 – CURRENT MEETING

Jockey MM Firdaus was fined RM500/- for misconduct under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for breaching the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) related to Covid-19 Jockeys’ Room protocol.


RACE 9 (R474) CLASS 4 (A) – 1200M (SHORT COURSE), SATURDAY, 29 MAY 2021 – CURRENT MEETING

The Stewards inquired into the reason Jockey MM Firdaus (ME NO MARSH MELLOW) had started from an incorrect barrier in the above race. It was ascertained the Jockey MM Firdaus, although advised of the correct stall position, had gone into the stall to the inside of his designated stall. Subsequently, SPLENDOR (App S Uzair) which was loaded last, went into the only available stall. Jockey MM Firdaus was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a).

App S Uzair was reprimanded to ensure that he started from his correct stall albeit that being placed last, he was placed in the only remaining stall.
