Shortly after the start, GOOD VIBRATIONS (App L De Souza) and ACME bumped for some distance.

At the 200M, ACME laid out, crowding GOOD LUCKY (App CK Khaw) which in turn bumped with GOOD VIBRATIONS. The Stewards were satisfied that ACME contributed considerably by hanging outwards throughout. Trainer C Leck was advised to take steps to rectify the gelding’s manners and engage a senior rider on ACME in future.

BULLISH LUCK was inclined to lay outwards over the final 150M.

When questioned, App CK Khaw advised that TAIL SPIN showed no early pace and although he had been instructed to attempt to lead, he had been unable to take up a position at any stage.

Trainer MP Thwaites stated that he had instructed TAIL SPIN to be ridden for pace, however, gave the option for it to be sat in the field rather than trapped wide. He was disappointed that TAIL SPIN had showed no pace and advised that he would report back to the Stewards if there is anything amiss with the gelding on returning to his stable.

WE’RE THE WORLD will be required to pass a 1000M/vet test before being declared to race again for having performed poorly.

Approaching the 200M, Jockey B Pinheiro took CASEY outwards across the heels of SUPREME STAR (HS Gill) when disappointed for a run. SUPREME STAR then shifted outwards with CASEY being eased outwards from its heels and bumping with BLACK MAMBA (App L De Souza). CASEY was then carried outwards in the final 25M.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey B Pinheiro, the rider of RACE FOR FAME, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that when he rode RACE FOR FAME, he allowed his horse to shift in at about the 850M, causing LIGHTNING KING (AK Lim) to be restrained.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey B Pinheiro’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 30 September 2019 and to expire on 12 October 2019, both dates inclusive. Acting on the provisions of MRA Rule 48(5), the Stewards deferred the commencement of his suspension. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (5:55pm).

Near the 800M, SECKILL (App R Nuqman) rolled out causing FRENCH VINTAGE (App N Varmah) to be restrained outwards. FRENCH VINTAGE then raced wide.

Near the 800M, SMOOTHLY had to be restrained off the heels of D’GREAT LUCK (AK Lim).

RACE 9 (R1195) CLASS 5 (A) – 1400M (LONG COURSE B)

Prior to being loaded, the bridle and head-gear of CHAMPION FACE (App CK Khaw) came off. The Starter was unable to refit the ear-muffs and as such CHAMPION FACE raced without ear-muffs.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC

SATURDAY, 21 SEPTEMBER 2019, SELANGOR TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2019

All riders were addressed with regards to their health and hydration in relation to the API.

RACE 3 (R1135) CLASS 5 (A) – 1400M (LONG COURSE A), SUNDAY, 8 SEPTEMBER 2019, SELANGOR TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2019

The Stewards concluded an inquiry into the reasons for Jockey B Pinheiro being dislodged from COMMODORE LINCOLN near the 1000M. After taking evidence from Jockey R Shafiq (EXCALIBUR) and Jockey B Pinheiro (COMMODORE LINCOLN), it was ascertained that Jockey B Pinheiro had positioned COMMODORE LINCOLN in the field behind EXCALIBUR when the lead pace slowed and this caused Jockey R Shafiq to steady his mount. In taking an evasive action, COMMODORE LINCOLN clipped the heels of EXCALIBUR and blundered, dislodging Jockey B Pinheiro.

After viewing the video of the incident, the Stewards were satisfied that no rider was at fault for this incident.
