ARLO (S Ruzaini) jumped awkwardly outwards, was slow to find its stride and was outpaced in the early stages.

SUPER EIGHT (O Chavez) was slow to begin.

HAPPY VALLEY jumped inwards causing ARLO, which was slow to begin, to ease in order to avoid his heels. App CK Khaw, the rider of HAPPY VALLEY, was warned by the Stewards to show greater awareness of runners on his inside under similar circumstances in future.

At about the 1150M, LIM’S GREETING (HS Gill) laid outwards and had to be corrected to avoid contact with HAPPY VALLEY which was shifting inwards.

Between the 600M and the 400M, LIM’S GREETING was held up for clear running on the heels of PERFECT RUN (App WW Cheah) and SUPER EIGHT. Approaching the 400M, JUST DUIT (S Sandana) had to be eased to avoid the heels of LIM’S GREETING, and at this point, TAUROS (App A Zaimuddin) had to be shifted inside to avoid the heels of JUST DUIT.

RACE 3 (R1099)       CLASS 5 (A)– 1200M (SHORT COURSE A)

Trainer S Siva was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he failed to correctly notify the Stewards of the removal of Tongue-tie from LINING TOGETHER (S Sandana) prior to the declaration stage. LINING TOGETHER raced without Tongue-tie in today’s race.

DRAGON WALK (App CK Khaw) jumped awkwardly outwards, and bumped CATCH ME GREAT (App WK Lee) which was then crowded to the inside by RA FORCE (Z Khairil).

SWINGLOWSWEETJACKY (HS Gill) was slow to find its stride.

CATCH ME GREAT was slow to begin.

DRAGON WALK showed a tendency to lay outwards in the early stages and was also bumped slightly outwards by LINING TOGETHER approaching the 1000M. When questioned, App CK Khaw, the rider of DRAGON WALK, stated that he had difficulty in shifting across from a wide draw in the early stages and this contributed to the gelding’s disappointing performance.

Jockey J Mallyon, the rider of SATURDAY’S DELIGHT, reported that the gelding raced ungenerously throughout.

When questioned, Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of RA FORCE, stated that his mount had been bumped outwards by CATCH ME GREAT at the jump and thereafter had no opportunity to obtain a good early position without racing unacceptably wide. He added that RA FORCE was unresponsive in the early stages and felt that the change of gear today may not have suited the gelding. He also stated that RA FORCE responded fairly to pressure in the straight and that in his opinion, the wide barrier had reduced his chances today.

PUTMONEY TAKEMONEY (SU Lim) over-raced in the early stages.

At about the 500M, BIG BANK (App AM Aizat) was disappointed for a run on the heels of STAR STRIKE (S Ruzaini).

All riders returned to scale an average of 0.5kg overweight due to the adverse weather conditions.

When questioned about the improved performance of HIGH COUNCIL (App A Suriya), Trainer C Leck stated that after the gelding’s last start, the rider had reported to him that HIGH COUNCIL would benefit from being freshened up. He therefore amended the gelding’s training regime and changed the head gear today from Pacifiers to Blinkers. Trainer C Leck further stated that although HIGH COUNCIL had been ridden from a mid-to-back position on its last start, this was not the intention and that the gelding had shown more natural speed today enabling him to track the leader and race from a forward position.
