At the conclusion of an inquiry, App Z Syafifie, the rider of KIM POLO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding KIM POLO, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to BLUEJAY and ONCE UPON A TIME at the 1000M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App Z Syafifie’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 5 January 2026 and to expire on 17 January 2026, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

13	COOL SIXTY-ONE (O Chavez)	Hung in in the 600m, making it difficult to assist. As a result of the gelding’s behavior, despite Jockey O Chavez’s efforts, he was unable to angle his mount out for a clear running, was forced to remain on the inside, and was baulked for clear running over the majority of the concluding stages. Trainer J Lim is advised to adapt necessary measure to improve this gelding’s racing manners in the running.

A review was conducted into the start of this race. In this regard, it was established that the SKY KING (CK Khaw) in barrier number 7 was impeded by the right-side starting gate when the start was effected. Consequently, the horse was declared “Non-Runners” and all bets were ordered to be refunded.

Jockey J Mallyon was fined RM100/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to use the assigned colours during trackwork & barrier trials.

Trainer S Siva was fined RM 250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for galloping “STARLIGHT GLIMMER” on Track II without seeking the prior permission of the Stewards for trackwork.
