Jockey HS Gill was questioned regarding whether he could have been more proactive in manoeuvring ANKARA into a more forward position. In this regard, he explained that his mount was a broken-winded horse which required specific non-pressure ride until it was absolutely necessary. Therefore, he elected to allow his horse to get comfortable early in its own racing rhythm and finished its race off as best as it could.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, App J Ikram, the rider of JOJU, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, S Hamilton, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding JOJU he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TWO MILLION in the concluding stages.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App J Ikram’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 13 October 2025 and to expire on 25 October 2025, both dates inclusive. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM1000/-. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

GHOST RAJA was carried in by PACIFIC SKY which shifted in between 300M to 200M. Thereafter, GHOST RAJA became awkwardly placed on heels and shifted out to continue its run.

A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Jockey R Nuqman, the rider of the fourth placed horse (GHOST RAJA) against the second placed horse, PACIFIC SKY (Troy See) on the grounds of interference in the straight. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Panel overruled the objection and ordered the judge’s result to stand.

When questioned regarding the tactics adopted on SUPER BOWL, Jockey S Uzair explained that it was his intention to sit in a forward position. However, after crossing SAINT TROPEZ, his horse took hold of the bit and raced clear off the field. He further explained that rather than restraining his mount, he elected to allow the gelding to stride freely. The Panel noted his explanation.

RACE 4 (R0662) CLASS 4A – 1100M (SC A6), SUNDAY, 28 SEPTEMBER 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2025

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App J Ikram’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day, to be deferred, with effect from 6 October 2025 and to expire on 12 October 2025, both dates inclusive. In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM1000/-. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

RACE 4 (R0662) CLASS 4A – 1100M (SC A6), SUNDAY, 28 SEPTEMBER 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2025

The Stewards, on Sunday, 5 October 2025 at SLTC, concluded a review into the running and handling of KIM BELLA and took evidence from Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of KIM BELLA.

After reviewing the films of the incident and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action, however, highlighted the inconsistency of his riding and advised him that should he appear before the Panel regarding a similar occurrence in future, more severe sanctions may follow.

RACE 4 (R0662) CLASS 4A – 1100M (SC A6), SUNDAY, 28 SEPTEMBER 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2025

The Stewards, on Sunday, 5 October 2025 at SLTC, concluded a review into the running and handling of RUMEUR (Y Aify) in the above race. After reviewing the films of the incident, the Stewards decided to take no further action.

RACE 12 (R0680) CLASS 5A – 1600M (LC A6), SUNDAY, 28 SEPTEMBER 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2025

The Stewards, on Sunday, 5 October 2025 at SLTC, concluded a review into the running and handling of SMART LIKE JASON in the above race and took evidence from App PH Seow, the rider of SMART LIKE JASON. After reviewing the films of the incident, the Stewards decided to take no further action, however, cautioned her for shifting ground in races.

RACE 5 (R0673) CLASS 4B – 1100M (SC A6), SUNDAY, 28 SEPTEMBER 2025, SELANGOR TURF CLUB SEPTEMBER MEETING 2025

The Stewards, on Sunday, 5 October 2025 at SLTC, concluded a review into the running and handling of PACIFIC ANGEL and took evidence from App S Bahauddin, the rider of PACIFIC ANGEL, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, J Leck.

REPORT OF ANALYSIS ON CLEARING SAMPLES

The Clearing Samples which were both taken from CAPTAIN PEGASUS and STARLIGHT GLIMMER (both for Trainer S Siva) on 31 August 2025, revealed that no prohibited substance was detected and as such, CAPTAIN PEGASUS and STARLIGHT GLIMMER are cleared to race under MRA Rule 134(12).
