In this regard, he explained that his horse was travelling well and ANTIPODEAN made a quick sweeping run that when ANTIPODEAN raced alongside him, he knew it was the long course, was well positioned and travelling well, therefore he did not feel the need to take his horse outside its comfort zone when that was the bend and the long straight was ahead. He further explained that in the straight, CAVALRY unfortunately did not produce the burst of speed he would have expected from its run in transit and only stayed on into third. His explanation was noted.
