When impeded near the 275M, had to be taken outwards. Rider was reprimanded for his actions which bordered on celebratory at the finish.

The Stewards granted permission for Jockey KC Tham to replace App M Lukman as the rider of VALUE OF JUSTICE as the latter was unable to make the carded weight. App M Lukman was warned that a repetition in future, may lead to a penalty being imposed.

Slow into stride. Trainer advised that due to the 1300M, he had instructed that the gelding be ridden handy rather than attempting to lead. Rider stated that the gelding had not jumped well but although he wished to be racing handy with cover, he was unable to achieve this and elected to go inside for a rails run when rearward. The Stewards noted this explanation.

Trainer AB Abdullah was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to declare the use of Special Bit on ZANJABEEL within the prescribed time.

After being loaded, MALAYSIA CAPTAIN went berserk in the barrier, became cast and was subsequently withdrawn at 3:54pm. In light of the gelding’s history, MALAYSIA CAPTAIN will be required to pass 2 Starting Stall tests before being declared to race again. Vet inspection: Cut on the left flank – Vet exam (1 week embargo)

Raced wide from the 800M until straightening when attempting to secure the lead.

On inquiry, Jockey R Rueven, the rider of BIG BAD MAMA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that he shifted in when insufficiently clear of DOCTOR GINGER causing that horse to be restrained, losing ground. BLACK QUAIL also had to be restrained in this incident.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey R Rueven’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 20 March 2023 and to expire on 26 March 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App R Nuqman’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) Malaysian race days, to be deferred, with effect from 26 March 2023 and to expire on 2 April 2023, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
