ARIF (S Salee) dislodged its rider en route to the start and was apprehended shortly after.  The gelding was checked by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race.

BLOSSOMS SEQUEL (SU Lim) was slow to begin.

At about the 200M, BLOSSOMS SEQUEL had to steady and shift out across the heels of SECRET SPICE (S Anandan) to obtain a clear run and thereafter, laid in under the whip and shifted back to the running rail.

Post-race veterinary examinations of FAT POWER (App KC Wong) and LEE’S SURPRISE      (J Chuah) revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Stewards questioned Jockey R Woodworth, the rider of PO’DE OURO, into that gelding’s poor performance today.  He explained that from a wide barrier, he rode forward but due to the early speed of the race, at the 800M, he elected to ease in behind the leaders. PO’DE OURO travelled well until entering the straight and when placed under pressure, failed to respond to his riding.   The Stewards noted his explanation.  A post-race veterinary examination of PO’DE OURO revealed no obvious abnormality.  The gelding which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.  PO’DE OURO was Impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.
