RACE 1 (R 547) CLASS 5 (B) – 1300M

As there was no suitable rider available, the Stewards permitted Jockey R Rueven to replace App R Ruwaidy as the rider of LIM’S KEYWAY when the latter failed to turn up at the Course.  The matter will be investigated.

PENANG BANK (HS Gill) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

LEEDSTHEWAY (App R Nuqman) showed no early pace despite being urged.

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of LIM’S KEYWAY, reported that his mount was not striding out freely and was making abnormal respiratory noise.  A post-race veterinary examination of LIM’S KEYWAY revealed no obvious abnormality.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that PENANG BANK returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 2 (R548)  CLASS 5 (B) –1300M

DREAMS CAN BE REAL, a course scratching as it had sustained stone bruise off fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

LUCK HAPPY which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

BRIGHT SUN (HK Cheng) jumped awkwardly outwards, carrying LEGACY FIGHTER (App R Nuqman) onto LEESTOWN EXPRESS (HS Gill), resulting in MERRY BELL (App P Haris) and LUCK HAPPY (R Rueven) being crowded for room.

Shortly after the start, MERRY BELL was crowded for room between LUCK HAPPY and LEESTOWN EXPRESS which drifted out.

Passing the 150M-mark, LEESTOWN EXPRESS laid inwards away from the whip and bumped LEGACY FIGHTER inwards onto MERRY BELL and PARISBAS (K Eirwan).  Jockey HS Gill was shown the video of the incident and warned to exercise more care when shifting ground.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BRIGHT SUN returned with a cut into its off hind coronet.

A post-race veterinary examination of LUCK HAPPY revealed no obvious abnormality.

A post-race veterinary examination of SOMAR revealed no obvious abnormality.

AGUERO JR (Z Khairil) which raced poorly will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey HS Gill, when questioned regarding his ride on DIRECTOR, stated that at the top of the straight, the gelding was making abnormal respiratory noise.  Passing the 150M-mark, he felt something amiss and stopped riding as DIRECTOR was not striding out freely.  His explanation was noted, however, he was warned that he is expected to ride his mount out to the end of the race in future, failing which action will be taken.
