PENANG SEPTEMBER MEETING 2019 – 3RD DAY,

Panel of Stipendiary Stewards:
Mr Philip Anderson (Acting Chief Stipendiary Steward – Chairman), Mr Lee Seng He (Senior Stipendiary Steward), Mr Devaraj Arujunen and Mr Jarry Chong Kok Heng (Stipendiary Stewards).
Prior to the commencement of today’s Race Meeting, the Racing Stewards arranged a meeting with a delegation of Trainers and Jockeys to discuss the current haze conditions. All Trainers and Jockeys present agreed they were satisfied that it was safe to continue with the Race Meeting.

RACE 1 (R1196) CLASS 5 (B) – 1300M
MORALES, a course scratching as it was bruised off hind sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Emergency acceptor, GHOST SPIRIT was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
HENNESSY DRAGON (App J Daniel) was fractious in the barrier and jumped away awkwardly.
RICH AND SMART (HS Gill) laid in away from the whip over the final 200M.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MR WHYTE (K Eirwan), NAPOLEON (App S Rosmizan) and ZOLVED (App L De Souza) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R1197) CLASS 5 (B) – 1300M
EASTWOOD, a course scratching as it had corneal ulcer right eye, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Emergency acceptor, LEE’S SURPRISE was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
MEGUSTO (App L De Souza) stood when the gates were released and lost ground.
ACIPENSER (HS Gill) shifted out at the 300M to obtain a clear run.
CHERON WARRIOR (App CK Khaw) had to be steadied off the heels of SOLID BRISK (App S Hafis) passing the 250M. App S Hafis, in the presence of his trainer, I Ismadi, was shown the vision of the incident and advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
ULTIMATE HERO (App CT Lee) had to steady to avoid the heels of ANAK WARRIOR (Z Khairil) inside the 100M.
BABY POLO (App P Haris) broke down after pulling-up. The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BABY POLO fractured its off fore lateral sesamoid bone and was humanely euthanized.
Post-race veterinary examinations of EAGLE SOAR (J De Souza) and MEGUSTO revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 3 (R1198) CLASS 5 (B) – 1700M
The Stewards permitted Jockey S Anandan to replace Jockey Y Aify on BAYMAX as the latter was certified unwell.
SUCCESSION (HS Gill) was slow into stride and showed no early pace despite being urged.
JETSTAR EAGLE (HK Cheng) raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.
Jockey HS Gill, the rider of SUCCESSION reported that his mount was making respiratory noises and was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of SUCCESSION revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of JETSTAR EAGLE and BLACK GHOST (SS Vanan) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R1199) CLASS 5 (A) – 1300M
GORDON G, a course scratching as it was bruised near fore tendon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Trainer I Ismadi was fined RM1,000/- under MRA Regulation 20.6 as read with MRA Regulation 20.3.1 for failing to ensure the vaccination status (Prestige 2: EI & EHV) was current for RAPTOR (App S Hafis). RAPTOR was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 1.10 pm.
MIROTIC (App P Haris) jumped away awkwardly.
YOU KNOW WHEN (App S Saddam) laid in passing the 300M, obliging the rider to stop riding and straighten the gelding.
HELLO SAYANG (Z Khairil) which was laying in, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of BLACK IS POWER (App CK Khaw) racing to the 100M.
App S Saddam, the rider of YOU KNOW WHEN, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of YOU KNOW WHEN revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of CHIEF CLERK (KC Wong), ASIAN TIGER (App S Rosmizan), MIROTIC, HELLO SAYANG and PEACH BOWL (J De Souza) all revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 5 (R1200) CLASS 5 (A) – 1300M
GOD’S FATE, a course scratching as it was bruised near fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MASTRO GEPPETTO which was down 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
ROBBEN (App S Rosmizan) was slow into stride and showed no early pace despite being urged.
AUSSIE EAGLE (F Yap) had to be steadied racing to the 1000M to avoid the heels of GOLD SEAL (S Anandan) which was taken inward by HEAVENLY GIFT (App S Saddam).
MASTRO GEPPETTO (HS Gill) raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.
App S Saddam, the rider of HEAVENLY GIFT, reported that his whip got entangled in the reins at about the 200M.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that YOU ARE GENIUS (Z Khairil) bled and will be barred from racing for a period of three (3) months under MRA Rule 92(3)(a)&(b) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MASTRO GEPPETTO and D’GREAT TALENT (S Ruzaini) revealed no obvious abnormality.

ENCOSTA ZONE was a course scratching as it was fractious and unable to be loaded into the float.
SOON YOU THINK (AK Lim) and TURQUOISE KING (App CK Khaw) both jumped away awkwardly.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SOON YOU THINK returned having cast its near fore plate.
Post-race veterinary examinations of CASTLE CHOICE (App CT Lee) and GOLDEN EMPIRE (S Ruzaini) revealed no obvious abnormality. However, GOLDEN EMPIRE cast its near fore plate.

RACE 7 (R1102) CLASS 4 (B) – 1300M
Emergency acceptor, TARZAN BOY was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
The Stewards permitted Jockey AK Lim to replace Jockey F Yap on TAN’S MAESTRO as the latter was stood down by the Club Medical Officer.
OPTIMUS (App CK Khaw) dislodged its rider en route to the start, was apprehended, checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to race.
LION CONQUEROR (App S Saddam) jumped away awkwardly.
MARY KING (K Eirwan) was slow to begin.
CENTURY WORLD (Z Khairil) broke down racing to the 100M. As a consequence, GRASSWOOD STAR (App P Haris) and HAPPY BABY (S Anandan) had to take evasive action to avoid the fallen rider. Jockey Z Khairil was exempted from weighing-in, checked by the Club Medical Officer and certified well to fulfill his engagements for the remainder of the day. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that CENTURY WORLD fractured its off fore distal cannon and was humanely euthanized.
Jockey K Eirwan, the rider of MARY KING, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that MARY KING returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptor, FUNKADELIC was withdrawn due to a capacity field.
FIELD FORCE which was down 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
The Stewards permitted Jockey KC Wong to replace Jockey Y Aify on JACKS SECRET as the latter was certified unwell.
OVER LIMITS (App CK Khaw) was slow into stride.
LOUEY VELOCE (App L De Souza) raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.
The saddle on DEADLINE DAY (App P Mogun) slipped back from the 400M, placing the rider at a disadvantage.
Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of CAPE LINCOLN, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of CAPE LINCOLN revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 9 (R1204) CLASS 5 (A) – 1700M
The Stewards permitted Jockey J Chuah to replace Jockey F Yap on TAN’S LEGENDARY as the latter was stood down by the Club Medical Officer.
NATURAL WATER (App CC Foo) jumped away awkwardly and showed no early pace.
D’GREAT SWIFT (AK Lim) had to be steadied approaching the finish when racing tight between BEST DREAM (K Eirwan) and GRAND SHOW (App S Saddam).
The whip of Jockey J De Souza, the rider of D’GREAT OPULENT, was accidentally struck off by App CT Lee, the rider of MYSTICAL STAR at about the 250M.
Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of PURPLE RAIN LADY, reported that his mount was making respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
