RACE 1 (R1577) CLASS 5 (B) – 1200M
Trainer W Lim was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to seek the Stewards’ permission for Jockey S Salee to ride 1½ kg over on WILL BE BETTER within the stipulated time.
Trainer I Ismadi was fined RM250/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for failing to submit the Change of Gear Form for blinker/pacifier on RAPTOR (App S Hafis) within the stipulated time.
MR DREYFUSS (R Rueven) reared when the gates were released and jumped awkwardly.
MEGUSTO (App L De Souza) was slow to begin.
SPEEDY NANCHO (J Chuah) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of MR WHYTE
(K Eirwan) racing to the 800M.
MAYWEATHER (App S Saddam) rolled in passing the 100M, resulting in MR WHYTE being taken in slightly onto RAPTOR which had to be steadied.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that MILITARY STAR (CK Tan) returned with respiratory distress and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Post-race veterinary examinations of RAPTOR and MR WHYTE revealed no obvious abnormality. EASTWOOD (S Anandan) returned having cast its off fore plate.

RACE 2 (R1578) CLASS 5 (A) – 1200M
EMPIRE BAY and SUPREME SASSO, both course scratchings as they were bruised off fore fetlock and had fever respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
DANE’S ANATOMY (R Rueven) was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to race.
WINTERFELL (App L De Souza) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.
POWERFUL STAR (App S Hafis) jumped away awkwardly, shifted out and was slow into stride.
RICH AND SMART (HS Gill) stood when the gates were released, was slow into stride and showed no early pace despite being urged.
GOLDEN ROOSTER (M Yusri) raced wide from the 800M until the 500M.
Jockey Z Khairil, the rider of HEAVENLY GIFT reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that HEAVENLY GIFT returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of DANE’S ANATOMY, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality.
Post-race veterinary examinations of POWERFUL STAR and RICH AND SMART revealed no obvious abnormality. RICH AND SMART which raced poorly will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. RICH AND SMART was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.
The Stewards questioned Trainer T Asogan into the poor performance of RICH AND SMART. He was unable to offer any tangible explanation and was advised to report to the Stewards should he find anything amiss with the gelding on returning to the stables.
The Stewards also questioned Jockey HS Gill, the rider of RICH AND SMART into that gelding’s poor performance. Jockey HS Gill stated that prior to the jump, RICH AND SMART got its head up and that contributed to it being slowly away. He further stated that he considered the gelding was not suited by today’s going.

RACE 3 (R1579) CLASS 5 (A) – 1200M
REWARDING SMILE which was down 25kgs and CHERON WARRIOR which was up 17kgs in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
ONE MORE ACHIEVER (R Rueven) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.
MYSTICAL STAR (App CT Lee) was slow to begin.
BIG BANK (C Goon) hung out on the first turn and raced wide from the 800M until the 600M.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that QUEEN FORCE (HK Cheng) returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again. The mare was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of ONE MORE ACHIEVER and App L De Souza, the rider of KARIGARA reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of both geldings revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of REWARDING SMILE (App S Saddam) revealed no obvious abnormality. The gelding which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 4 (R1580) OPEN MAIDEN – 1200M
[WEIGHT-FOR-AGE]
STRONG MAN, a course scratching as it had a seedy toe near hind foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
MR RIGHT which was up 19kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
App J Daniel, the rider of EMIRATES WARRIOR was dislodged en route to the start. He was examined by the Club Medical Officer behind the barriers and was certified fit to ride.
RAISE ME UP (HK Cheng) was slow to begin.
The saddle on D’GREAT CHANCE (App P Haris) slipped backwards from the home turn, placing the rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.
GOLDEN STATES (SU Lim) had to be steadied passing the 250M when MARTELLO (Z Khairil) rolled in, obliging the rider of MARTELLO to stop riding and straighten his mount. The Stewards showed Jockey Z Khairil the vision of the incident and advised him to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Post-race veterinary examinations of EMIRATES WARRIOR and EMKI EXPRESS (S Salee) revealed no obvious abnormality. EMIRATES WARRIOR was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.
The Stewards opened an Inquiry into the running and handling of EMIRATES WARRIOR and questioned its rider, App J Daniel and its trainer, K Coetzee. After taking initial evidence and viewing the video, the Stewards adjourned the Inquiry to a date to be fixed.

RACE 5 (R1581) BANDED 38 – 61 – 1600M
[SET-WEIGHTS] [ONLY APPRENTICES ALLOWANCES PERMITTED]
ZAHRAT JUMEIRAH, GRAND CANYON, D’GREAT SWIFT and TURQUOISE KING, all course scratchings as they had a swollen off fore fetlock, a nail prick off fore foot, a bruised back and cellulitis off fore cannon, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
DISCRETELY RED (App CT Lee) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.
SONNY BILL (App J Daniel) was slow to begin.
Racing to the 1500M, TONGARIRO (App L De Souza) which was racing in tight galloping room, bumped the hind quarters of SONNY BILL out, resulting in D’GREAT OPULENT (App S Rosmizan) which was racing on its outside clipping its heels, stumbled, dislodging App S Rosmizan. DISCRETELY RED which was following had to take evasive action from the fallen rider and as such, had to steady outwards resulting in the saddle of DISCRETELY RED shifting to the off side and App CT Lee lost the use of both his irons and DISCRETELY RED was eased out of the race.
App S Rosmizan was examined by the Club Medical Officer and was stood down for the remainder of the day.
The Stewards took evidence from App S Rosmizan in the presence of his trainer S Hamilton, and App J Daniel. After viewing the videos, the Stewards were satisfied that it was a racing incident and took no further action.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that SONNY BILL returned with epiglottis entrapment and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet examination) before being declared to race again.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of IKING, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of D’GREAT OPULENT revealed no obvious abnormality.

SO ON and PROVOCATEUR which were down 19kgs and 15kgs in body weight respectively since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were passed fit to start.
The Stewards permitted App S Hafis to replace App S Rosmizan as the rider of TERMS OF REFERENCE.
KING POWER (App J Daniel) was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to race.
FLYING BABY (HK Cheng) stood when the gates were released and was slow to begin.
Jockey R Rueven, the rider of PROVOCATEUR, reported that his saddle slipped backwards during the running of the race.
Jockey HS Gill, the rider of METALLOCENE and App J Daniel, the rider of KING POWER reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of both geldings revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of CERDAN (Z Khairil) revealed no obvious abnormality.

Trainer EV Breukelen was fined RM250/-for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for presenting STIRLING (App S Hafis) without blinker/pacifier as declared.
STIRLING jumped away awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and lost some ground.
NUMERO UNO (K Eirwan) jumped away awkwardly.
Jockey J Chuah, the rider of ASPEN and Jockey SU Lim, the rider of CAPE LINCOLN, reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of both geldings revealed no obvious abnormality.
App S Hafis, the rider of STIRLING reported that his mount was making respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. The gelding was impounded for further veterinary and analytical examination.

Trainer HS Lim was fined RM500/- under MRA Rule 37(1) for failing to ensure that his employee named OOI CHIN OOH (NRIC No. 710628-07-5528) is licensed or registered with the MRA during a routine Stable Inspection on Thursday, 5th December 2019 at 9.50am by PNTC Stewards and the Security Department.

Jockey J Low (FUSION POWER) subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal and applied for a Stay of Sentence. Given the provisions of MRA Rule 48(5) related to the deferral of commencement of a penalty, Jockey J Low was permitted to accept rides on 21 and 22 December 2019. The appeal hearing against the penalty of the suspension of three (3) Malaysian race days for careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) will be held on Sunday, 22 December 2019.
RACE 4 (R1548) METRO A (SW) – 1600M (LONG COURSE A), SUNDAY,
8 DECEMBER 2019, SELANGOR TURF CLUB DECEMBER MEETING 2019
A post-race veterinary examination of L’APPRENTI SORCIER (Z Khairil) revealed that the gelding bled and will be barred from racing for a period of six (6) months under MRA Rule 92(5) and thereafter will be required to pass a bleeder’s test before being declared to race again.

The Selangor Turf Club Racing Stewards heard the above appeal on 19 December 2019.
After considering submissions from Jockey S Anandan (the rider of TEH TARIK), Trainer SY Lim (the Trainer of TEH TARIK), and the Chief Stipendiary Steward, the Racing Stewards partially allowed the appeal and reduced his suspension to one (1) month to commence from 23 December 2019 and to expire on 22 January 2020, both dates inclusive. The Racing Stewards ordered the deposit to be refunded.
