RACE 1 (R1014) CLASS 5(A) – 1100M

Emergency acceptor, GHOST AFFAIR was withdrawn due to a capacity field.

MISS MICHELLE (HS Gill) jumped awkwardly outwards, crowding CASTLE CHOICE (App A Azizi).

At approximately the 200M-mark, Jockey S Saddam, the rider of LION CONQUEROR,

accidentally struck COME ON JIMMY (S Ruzaini) across the head.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of COME ON JIMMY, pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(10) for failing to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. The particulars of the charge were that whilst riding COME ON JIMMY, he failed to ride with sufficient vigour and determination and thereby failed to ride to the satisfaction of the Stewards. When deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his guilty plea and the facts of this case, Jockey S Ruzaini’s points of mitigation and his riding record. Jockey S Ruzaini was suspended from riding in races for a period of three (3) months with effect from Monday, 20^th December 2021 and to expire on Saturday, 19^th March 2022, both days inclusive. In addition, Jockey S Ruzaini was fined a sum of RM10,000/- (Ringgit Malaysia Ten Thousand). He was advised of his Right of Appeal (5.45pm).

RACE 2 (R1015) CLASS 5(A) – 1100M

TWILL GUY which was up 28kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

HEART FEELING (AM Aizat) over-raced in the early stages of the race.

At approximately the 600M-mark, POWERFUL DRAGON (HK Cheng) rolled outwards onto the hind quarters of CITY KNIGHT (App CC Foo) and had to be steadied.

CITY KNIGHT rolled inwards at approximately the 75M-mark onto HOSTWIN QUEEN (J Low), inconveniencing HOSTWIN QUEEN slightly. The Stewards were of the opinion that this incident had no effect on the result of the race.

Trainer B Ng was questioned with regards to the improved performance of CITY KNIGHT today. The only explanation he could offer was that the horse appeared to be very suited to the “Heavy” track today coupled with the fact that App CC Foo claimed 4kg. His explanation was noted.

RACE 3 (R1016) CLASS 4(B) – 1100M

Emergency acceptors, PERFECT RUN, PURE SPARK and MR DAVID were all withdrawn due to a capacity field.

BALL AND CHAIN which was down 19kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

The Stewards permitted Jockey Y Aify to replace Jockey J Daniel on SPEEDY DEMON when the latter was certified unwell.

Trainer MP Thwaites was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours for SPEEDY DEMON.

Passing the 200M-mark, Jockey HS Gill, the rider of MAZANZE, was struck by a clod.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that ORIENT EXPRESS (HK Cheng) returned having cast its near fore plate.

The state of track was upgraded to “Soft” after the running of this race.

RACE 4 (R1017) CLASS 4(A) – 1100M

Emergency acceptors, POLO BOY, D’GREAT JOURNEY and GENERAL NIX were all withdrawn due to a capacity field.

FIGHTING WARRIOR and SOMAR, which were up 15kgs and 20kgs respectively in body weight since their last run, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were both passed fit to start.

Trainer CC Ooi was fined RM1,000/- under MRA Regulation 20.6 as read with MRA Regulation 20.3.1 for failing to ensure the vaccination status (Equine Influenza) was current for KANTE. KANTE was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 1.20 pm.

The Stewards permitted Jockey CK Tan to replace Jockey J Daniel as the rider of FIGHTING WARRIOR.

The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of AYAAN (HS Gill) at 3.00 pm acting on veterinary advice that the gelding sustained a cut off fore. AYAAN will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

PURPLE RAIN (S Saddam) was slow into stride.

A post-race veterinary examination of FLYING BABY (App I Firdzriel) revealed that the gelding returned cut off fore.

MR ALEJANDRO, a course scratching as it had sustained a swelling off fore tendon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Trainer K Ananthen was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours for GOLD SKY BILLION (J Low)

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that GOLDEN TYCOON (AK Lim) returned having cast its near fore plate.

Emergency acceptors, RAINBOW FISH, HALLELUJAH and SUNNY FIGHTER were all withdrawn due to a capacity field.

BAGHDAD which was up 16kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

The Stewards permitted Jockey CK Tan to replace Jockey J Daniel as the rider of TWENTYSIXTWELVE.

Trainer PK Leong was fined RM100/- under MRA Rule 65(5)(c) for failing to produce the declared colours for SPEEDY SWALLOW (M Yusri).

The near fore plate of MAKE U FAMOUS (HK Cheng) was re-adjusted at the barriers and the gelding was passed fit to race by the Club Veterinary Surgeon.

MYSTICAL STAR (AM Aizat) was slow into stride.

MASTRO GEPPETTO (HS Gill) rolled out under pressure in the latter stages of the race, brushing DROUGHT (App S Hafis).

Jockey Y Aify, the rider of WILDFIRE, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of WILDFIRE revealed no obvious abnormality.

Jockey CK Tan, the rider of TWENTYSIXTWELVE, reported that his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding returned broken-winded and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptors, GOLDEN COIN, VETRI NAMATHE and POLO TYCOON were all withdrawn due to a capacity field.

L’KEN (SS Vanan) was slow into stride.

At approximately the 250M-mark, YOU ARE SPECIAL (App S Hafis) rolled inwards and had to be steadied off the heels of YULONG DREAM (J Low).

Jockey HS Gill, the rider of ROCK ME EASY, reported that his mount did not act in the going.

Jockey Y Aify, the rider of SILVER SIXTYSIX, reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
