RACE 1 (R327) CLASS 5 (B) – 1400M

FIRST OPTION (R Shafiq) jumped away awkwardly and dipped.

GREATBALLS OF FIRE (F Yap) raced wide from the 800M until entering the straight.

Jockeys R Shafiq and J Mallyon, the respective riders of FIRST OPTION and SUPERB SEVEN reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations of both geldings revealed no obvious abnormality. 

Post-race veterinary examinations of GREATBALLS OF FIRE and HOLY THOMAS (App S Hafis) revealed no obvious abnormality.

App WW Cheah, the rider of ORION, was shown the vision of the race in the presence of his Master, Trainer R Lines and was advised to ensure that his use of the whip is in accordance with the Rules.

RACE 2 (R328)  CLASS 5 (B) – 1400M

RED EASTERN (HS Gill) which was difficult to be loaded, was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 2.33 pm.  The gelding will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.

AGUERO (Y Aify) was slow to begin.

RACING MAN (App S Saddam) was slow into stride despite being urged.

App R Ruwaidy, the rider of  EQUALLY OPTIMISTIC, dropped his off side rein at about the 250M and when re-gathering it, he got his whip entangled in the horse’s mane and he accidentally dropped it.

Jockey Y Aify, the rider of AGUERO and Jockey J De Souza, the rider of BLACK DIAMOND both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of AGUERO revealed no obvious abnormality.  BLACK DIAMOND returned lame off fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of COLONEL LINCOLN (App CK Khaw), D’GREAT EASY (R Shafiq) and JEFFREY (J Mallyon) revealed no obvious abnormality.

NINETYSEVENEMPEROR (S Anandan) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.

SUPER DRAGON (J Mallyon) had to steady racing to the 900M to avoid the heels of JUST NAME IT (R Rueven).

Approaching the finish of the race, Jockey S Muniandy, the rider of MAZANDARAN dropped his whip.  He was warned that a repetition could lead to a penalty being imposed.

The whip of Jockey J Mallyon (SUPER DRAGON) broke during the running of the race.

A post-race veterinary examination of SUPER DRAGON revealed no obvious abnormality.  The gelding which raced poorly will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

DISCRETELY RED, a course scratching as it was bruised off fore sole, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

JUTSU (J De Souza) jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.

Jockey M Yusri, the rider of HALO INSPIRE, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. 

Post-race veterinary examinations of RA FORCE (F Yap) and MARY KING (App A Zaimuddin) revealed no obvious abnormality.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey R Shafiq, the rider of SATELLITE PRINCE pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 44(6) for failing to ride SATELLITE PRINCE out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards.  When assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey R Shafiq’s guilty plea, mitigating factors and his riding record.  Jockey R Shafiq was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) month with effect from Monday, 18th March 2019 and to expire on Wednesday, 17th April 2019, both dates inclusive.  He was advised of his Right of Appeal (4.00 pm).

RACE 5 (R331) CLASS 4 (A) – 1200M 

     

CROWN STAR and MULTIBLUE RANCHO, both course scratchings as they had a sore back and a bruised left knee respectively, will each be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

SPADE OF ACE (S Anandan) was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and was passed fit to race.

STIRLING (CK Tan) was slow to begin and showed no early pace despite being urged.

SPADE OF ACE raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.

ONE FOR ALL (App S Saddam) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of LOUEY VELOCE (App WW Cheah) racing to the 200M and shifted inwards and in so doing, had to be checked off the heels of NOVA WARRIOR (HS Gill) and shortly thereafter, ONE FOR ALL had to shift out for clear running.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that BIG LIGHTNING (J Mallyon) returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey S Anandan, the rider of SPADE OF ACE, reported that his mount was not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. 

Post-race veterinary examinations of FUNKADELIC (S Muniandy) and STIRLING revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 6 (R332) CLASS 3 – 1200M

Emergency acceptors, SOUTHERN MAN and AWATERE were both withdrawn due to a capacity field.

COMMANDO ECLIPSE, a course scratching as it was bruised off fore suspensory, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

SACRED SURFER which was down 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

The Stewards permitted Jockey HK Cheng to replace Jockey R Shafiq as the rider of D’GREAT LIGHT as the latter was medically stood down.

LITTLEBITOFJOY (App S Hafis) was slow into stride and showed no early pace despite being urged.

D’GREAT LIGHT  had to steady racing to the 1000M and lost ground.

SACRED SURFER (App A Zaimuddin) had to steady racing to the 900M to avoid the heels of PLATINUM LIFE (App J Daniel).  App J Daniel was shown the vision of the incident and advised to exercise greater care under similar circumstances.

PLATINUM LIFE was held up for clear running from the 300M until about the 150M.

SACRED SURFER had to be steadied at the 200M to avoid the heels of WORLD HARMONY (App S Saddam) and was disappointed for a run for some distance.

D’GREAT LIGHT had to be steadied and shifted out at the 150M to obtain clear running,

READY TO FORCE (J De Souza) shifted in over the concluding 100M and at the 50M, INNIMINYMINEMOW (HS Gill) had to be steadied.  Jockey J De Souza was shown the vision of the incident and advised to exercise greater care under similar circumstances. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that EATONS GOLD (App S Rosmizan)  returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockey Y Aify, the rider of PROBABLY reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that PROBABLY returned lame near fore and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Post-race veterinary examinations of PLATINUM LIFE and LITTLEBITOFJOY revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 7 (R333) CLASS 5 (A) – 1200M

CLASSIC KING, a course scratching as it was bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

ONE O NINE and STAR KING which were down 16kgs and 27kgs in body weight respectively since their last runs, were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and were  passed fit to start.

The Stewards permitted Jockey J Mallyon to replace Jockey R Shafiq as the rider of STAR KING as the latter was medically stood down.

GOLDEN DRAGON (App L De Souza) raced wide from the 700M until entering the straight.

App CK Khaw, the rider of  NOVA EAGLE reported that his mount was making respiratory noises.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed that NOVA EAGLE returned  broken-winded and as such, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

Jockeys M Hanif and Y Aify, the respective riders of SO ON and MIROTIC reported that their mounts were not striding out freely.  Post-race veterinary examinations revealed no obvious abnormality.

Post-race veterinary examinations of ONE O NINE (S Anandan) and GOLDEN DRAGON  revealed no obvious abnormality.

Prior to the “All Clear”, the Clerk of Scales reported to the Stewards that Jockey R Rueven, the rider of 3rd place getter BLIXEM had failed to weigh-in in accordance with MRA Rule 121(3) and as a consequence, an objection was lodged against the horse concerned.  The Racing Stewards reviewed the CCTV footage after Jockey R Rueven had returned to the Scales and confirmed the Clerk of Scales’ report that Jockey R Rueven had not weighed-in.   The Racing Stewards upheld the objection.  BLIXEM was disqualified and the placings were amended accordingly.

At the conclusion of an Inquiry, Jockey R Rueven pleaded guilty to a charge under MRA Rule 121(3) as read with MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for negligence in that he failed to weigh-in for BLIXEM, the 3rd place getter in this race.  In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey R Rueven’s guilty plea and mitigating factors.  Jockey R Rueven was disqualified for a period of six (6) months with effect from Sunday, 17th March 2019 and to expire on Monday, 16th September 2019, both dates inclusive.  He was advised of his Right of Appeal (7.00 pm).

An Inquiry into the running and handling of SO ON (M Hanif) will be held at a date to be fixed.

TEEN ANGEL, a course scratching as it had a bruised near fore tendon, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

BOLD PASSION which was down 22kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.

The Stewards permitted App L De Souza to replace App J Daniel as the rider of BOLD PASSION as the latter was medically stood down.

LEE’S SURPRISE (S Salee) had to be steadied shortly after the start when LOYALTY’S ANGEL (F Yap) shifted in and lost its position.

LOYALTY’S ANGEL had to be steadied shortly after the start when it was taken in by GOLDEN EMPIRE (App S Saddam) which had to be steadied.  As a result, SUPREME SASSO (App CT Lee) had to be steadied and lost its position.

Racing to the 800M, BULL SPUR (App A Zaimuddin) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of CHERON WARRIOR (App CK Khaw). 

Jockey R Rueven, the rider of BASTION reported that his mount was making respiratory noises and not striding out freely.  A post-race veterinary examination of BASTION revealed no obvious abnormality.

GENERAL REPORT(S)

COMPLAINT LODGED BY PNTC SECURITY DEPARTMENT AGAINST SYCE ELAMARAN A/L KECHI (MRA PASS NO. S.639) EMPLOYED BY TRAINER HS LIM

The Stewards concluded an Inquiry today (16th March 2019) into the above complaint.  After taking evidence from Security Guard Ramasamy a/l Shumugam and Syce Elamaran a/l Kechi in the presence of his employer Trainer HS Lim, Syce Elamaran a/l Kechi was fined RM250/- (Malaysian Ringgit Two Hundred and Fifty) under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) for misconduct in that he failed to follow the directive of the PNTC Security Personnel at 13.20 hours on Sunday, 10th March 2019 at the PNTC Main Entrance.


GENERAL REPORT – SLTC

RACE 11 (R318) CLASS 5 (B) – 1300M (LONG COURSE A), SUNDAY, 10 MARCH 2019, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2019

The Stewards, on 12 March 2019 at the Selangor Turf Club, concluded an inquiry into an incident at about the 800M. Evidence was taken from App WW Cheah, the rider of ELF’S DREAM, in the presence of his Master, Trainer R Lines, App A Zaimuddin, the rider of LIM’S ACTION, in the presence of his Acting Master, B Trainer Veloo a/l Kanniah, and App S Uzair, the rider of ONCE A THIEF.

App WW Cheah pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that that at the 800M he allowed his mount to lay inwards when not clear of LIM’S ACTION (App A Zaimuddin) which was badly checked and became unbalanced.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App WW Cheah’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. Acting on the provisions of MRA Rule 48(5), the Stewards deferred the commencement of his suspension. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 18 March 2019 and to expire on 30 March 2019 both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (11:30am).


ADDENDUM

RACE 11 (R318) CLASS 5 (B) – 1300M (LONG COURSE A), SUNDAY, 10 MARCH 2019, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2019

MUSANG KING (SU Lim) dislodged and injured the rider on the way to the start. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 5.56pm. An enquiry will be held into the circumstances of Jockey SU Lim’s fall at a date to be fixed. MUSANG KING will be required to pass a 1000M/vet (from the starting stall) test before being declared to race again.

RACE 9 (R316) CLASS 4 (A) – 1600M (LONG COURSE A), SUNDAY, 10 MARCH 2019, SELANGOR TURF CLUB MARCH MEETING 2019

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey S Ruzaini, the rider of MR HOPKINS, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that at about the 300M, he allowed his mount to shift inwards when not clear of SACRED EMPIRE which had to be checked.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey S Ruzaini’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of two (2) Malaysian race days with effect from 11 March 2019 and to expire on 17 March 2019, both dates inclusive. He was advised of his Right of Appeal (6:15pm).
