RACE 1 (R436) CLASS 4(A) – 1700M
MYSTICAL STAR (SS Vanan) was slow to begin.
ARIF (App AR Aiman) laid out racing to the 350M and brushed MYSTICAL STAR.
GUNFORHIRE (S Saddam) commenced to shift out from the 300M, resulting in ARIF changing course inwards for clear running.
Over the final stages of the race, ARIF laid out, resulting in GUNFORHIRE taking MYSTICAL STAR wider on the track. Jockey SS Saddam was shown the vision of the incident and advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
Prior to the ‘All Clear’ being given, an objection was lodged by Jockey SS Vanan, the rider of MYSTICAL STAR, placed second against ARIF (App AR Aiman), being declared the winner, on the grounds of alleged interference from the 350M. After considering the evidence and viewing the video, the Racing Stewards were of the opinion that the alleged interference had not affected the result of the race. The objection was overruled and the result stood.

RACE 2 (R437) BANDED 51 – 74 (SW) – 1600M
(ONLY APPRENTICES ALLOWANCES PERMITTED)
MAZANZE, a course scratching as it had sustained a swollen near fore cannon – superficial wound, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Light rain fell prior to and during the running of this race.
Jockey AM Aizat, the rider of MR ALEJANDRO, reported that his mount was not striding out
freely. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality. MR ALEJANDRO which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 3 (R438) CLASS 5(B) – 1400M
Emergency acceptors, OVERSEER, MR RIGHT and EXCALIBUR were all withdrawn due to a capacity field.
Acting on veterinary advice that HOSTWIN QUEEN (AM Aizat) was fractious and was unable to provide the pre-race blood sample, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of HOSTWIN QUEEN at 12.43pm under MRA Rule 134(2)(a)(ii).
Light rain fell during the running of this race.
NOVA BATTLE (App P Haris) jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.
All riders returned to scale an average of ½ over due to the adverse weather condition.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that NOVA BATTLE returned having cast both fore plates.
A post-race veterinary examination of HANDSOME BAB (Z Khairil) revealed no obvious abnormality. The gelding which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 4 (R439) CLASS 5(A) – 1400M
Emergency acceptors, TILSWORTH JOSHI and BABEL were both withdrawn due to a capacity field.
MODRIC, a course scratching as it was sore near fore foot, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of NOVA FACTOR (Z Khairil) at 3.15pm acting on veterinary advice that the gelding sustained a cut to its right hock. NOVA FACTOR will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
DREAMS CAN BE REAL (App P Haris) and LUCKY SIXTYSIX (App YY Oon) were both slow to begin.
App P Mogun, the rider of MIGHTY PHOENIX, reported that his saddle slipped back during the running of the race and as a consequence, he was unable to ride the gelding out in his normal manner. The Stewards confirmed that the saddle had slipped back.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that TILSWORTH SYDNEY (App A Nazir) and AWATERE (App AM Aizat) both returned having cast their off fore plate and near fore plate respectively.

Emergency acceptors, REWARDING SMILE, BM POWER and MONACO ACE were all withdrawn due to a capacity field.
SECKILL (App A Azizi) and QUASAR (S Ruzaini) were withdrawn at 3.45pm by order of the Racing Stewards.
The saddle on BAGHDAD (App I Firdzriel) slipped back during the running of the race which was confirmed by the Stewards.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that MBAPPE (App S Rosmizan) returned having cast its off hind plate and YULONG DREAM (App P Haris) returned with a cut to its off fore leg. YULONG DREAM will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

RIDERS ALLOWANCES NOT PERMITTED
AUTUMN BLITZ which was down 26kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon prior to the race and was passed fit to start.
SHINE SHINE (S Ruzaini) cast its off hind plate at the parade ring and had to be re-shod. CITY KNIGHT (App CC Foo) was kicked behind the barrier. Both geldings were checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon behind the barrier and were passed fit to race.
WILLOW SPRINGS (Z Khairil) was slow into stride.
SHINE SHINE jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that GURNEY DRIVE (App I Firdzriel) returned having cast its off fore plate and HARLEY FLAME (App S Rosmizan) returned with heat stress. HARLEY FLAME will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.

Emergency acceptors, LADY LAKSHMI and D’GREAT EMINENCE were both withdrawn due to a capacity field.
FORSA ECLIPSE, a course scratching as it was sore near fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
CITY OF DREAM (AM Aizat) and CRACKING TOTTIE (S Ruzaini) were withdrawn at 3.45pm by order of the Racing Stewards.
App CC Foo replaced App A Azizi as the rider of SACRED SURFER by order of the Stewards.
The Stewards permitted App A Nazir to replace Jockey Z Khairil was the rider of SHADOW SPEED as there was no suitable rider available when the latter was stood down medically.
CHIPS (SS Vanan) and STARDICE (App AR Aiman) were both slow into stride.
SHADOW SPEED raced wide from the 800M until entering the straight.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that AYAAN (App A Saran) and STARDICE returned having cast their near fore plate and off fore plate respectively.

RACE 8 (R443) CLASS 4(A) – 1200M
Emergency acceptors, PRATT STREET, SHEN LONG and ZAC ACE were all withdrawn due to a capacity field.
HONEY BOWL (S Ruzaini) and VIJETA (App R Ruwaidy) were withdrawn at 3.45pm by order of the Racing Stewards.
Jockey S Saddam replaced App A Azizi as the rider of TILSWORTH MICK by order of the Stewards when there was no suitable rider available.
The Stewards permitted App R Ruwaidy to replace Jockey Z Khairil as the rider of MISS MICHELLE as there was no suitable rider available when latter was stood down medically.
The Stewards permitted App CC Foo to replace App AR Aiman as the rider of SHENG PROISIR when the latter was stood down medically.
GENERAL TYCOON (App A Nazir) reared up badly in the stall dislodging App A Nazir. Acting on the Club Medical Officer’s advice that App A Nazir was injured and unable to ride, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of GENERAL TYCOON at 5.24pm. GENERAL TYCOON will be required to pass one (1) starting stall test before being declared to race again.
PULAU PINANG (SS Vanan) was slow to begin.
MISS MICHELLE was very slow to begin,
PULAU PINANG and SHENG PROISIR bumped on several occasions racing past the 800M.
Jockey S Saddam, the rider of TILSWORTH MICK dropped his reins over the concluding stages of the race.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that both BIG BANK (App P Mogun) and MISS MICHELLE returned having cast their off fore plates.

GENERAL REPORT(S)
At the conclusion of an Inquiry today (15th May 2021), Trainer T Asogan was charged with negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he lodged an outdated MRA SE1 Form even after he was advised to use the latest MRA SE1 Form by the Stipendiary Steward.
Trainer T Asogan pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined a sum of RM200/-.
PNTC TRACK WORK
Trainer CC Ooi was fined RM1,500/- for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) in that he disobeyed the directive of a PNTC Steward not to permit his employee Irwan Bin Muhamat to ride track work on 11th and 14th May 2021 at the main track and the horse-walker area and was advised of his Right of Appeal (12.45pm).
RACE 6 (R411) 4YO SPECIAL STAKES (SW) – 1200M, SUNDAY, 9TH MAY 2021,
2ND DAY, PENANG MAY MEETING 2021
Jockey F Yap (MAGNOLIA BLVD) subsequently exercised his Right of Appeal on 11th May 2021 against the 2 months’ suspension imposed by the Stipendiary Stewards under MRA Rule 121(2). On 12th May 2021, Jockey F Yap sought permission from the Racing Stewards to withdraw his appeal.
The Racing Stewards acceded to Jockey F Yap’s request to withdraw his appeal and his deposit was refunded.
PRE-RACE BLOOD TEST – 3RD DAY, SATURDAY, 15TH MAY 2021
PENANG TURF CLUB MAY MEETING 2021
The report dated 15th May 2021 (PNTC #V21/04) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 96 coded blood samples were received from the above-mentioned race meeting for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. All the samples were analyzed and passed the pre-race testing criteria.
