Royal Explorer – O Chavez/ F Maynard- 8/7/18

 Trainer Frank Maynard’s Royal Explorer has a great potential to race in top class judging from the impressive victory in Race 7 on Sunday.
The five-year-old by Henrythenavigator was in close touch with the early pack of runners and hit the front momentarily but was overtaken by Davinci. However, with Jockey Oscar Chavez showing his uncanny riding skills rallied back gamely to win from fast finishing Trudeau.
Davinci who finished third is the one to note next time out.
The six-year-old by Mastercraftsman was well up with the pace and threw a challenge in the run home but found the winner in Royal Explorer a shade too good.

Ateej – O Chavez/SB Tan – 8/7/18

Trainer Tan Soo Beng’s newcomer Ateej, bears watching after a fine victory in the Open Maiden event over 1300m in Race 5.
The three-year-old was quick off the mark at the start of the race and gradually tucked in second spot till the closing stages of the race when came with a determined challenged to beat front runner Dahees .
Thai Baht ran to his form with an impressive victory in Race 2 over 1300m.
The four-year-old by Famous Roman worked very well in the morning workouts and kept up to that form when railed on gamely to beat Once A Thief at the finish.
Now, Thai Baht is back to winning form and should be followed closely.



Leading trainer Richard Lines hog the limelight when saddled four winners in a card of 13 races at Selangor Turf Club on last Sunday.
It was a stable queue-up in Race four when Winged Foot and Like A Tiger fought the finish.
He continued his quest once again with a stable queue-up in Race 6 with Ready To Rock and Rainbow Fish.
He saddled his third winner of the day in Race 8 with Platoon who fought out the battle with rank outsider Encosta Zone.
Richard Lines wrapped up the day with his fourth win in Race 10 with God Helps Me.

Trainer Frank Maynard saddled three winners for the day.
He won with Bahar in Race 3, Royal Explorer in Race 7 and Gold Power in Race 12.
Trainers Tan Soo Beng and SY Lim both saddled a double each.
SB Tan was victorious in Race 5 on newcomer Ateej and Spin Fire in Race 11, while SY Lim took the open event with Elegant and made it back to back withThai Baht in the following event.
Trainer BT Lim and Charles Leck manage to saddle a winner each.
BT Lim won with Elite Gold in Race 9 while Charles Leck saddled Captain Classique in the last.
On the jockey’s front, Oscar Chavez (Ateej, Royal Expolorer), App L De Souza(Platoon, God Helps Me) App AM Aizat (Elegant, Gold Power) and, Calvin Goon (Thai Baht, Spin Fire) rode a double each.
While Jose De Souza (Ready To Rock), S. Ruzaini (Bahar), KC Wong (Winged Foot), and SU Lim (Captain Classique) rode a winner each.
