Vampire and Warlord the show stealer

Pacific Vampire, who upset the Tunku Gold Cup winner Noah Khan to register his first win in Malaysia last month, showed that the win was no fluke when he stepped up on that run to complete a double at Sungai Besi today.
It was also a red-letter day for trainer Jason Ong, who saddled four winners – his first in Malaysia, and apprentice Jerlyn Seow with her first treble.
And the icing on the cake for the Singapore pair and Pacific Stable came in the penultimate race of a 12-card programme when Pacific Warlord smashed the 1020m (No. 2 track) course record with a time of 58 seconds, slicing 0.29 seconds off the previous best set by Chonky Potato last year.
Pacific Vampire came over from Singapore with four wins in 11 runs at Kranji and needed four initial runs to find his feet at Sungai Besi.
It came in a Supreme A race over 1200m when he led all the way, leaving Noah Khan trailling in his wake in second place.
Pacific Vampire was engaged in another Supreme A event today, only this time it was over 1100m. With his brilliant early speed, punters did not hesitate to send the Impending gelding went off as the even-money favourite.

Pacific Vampire took command from the word ‘go’ and although Energy Baby took him on briefly early in the race, he looked in no danger from the 600m mark onwards.
Pacific Vampire romped to a three-length win, followed home by Stop The Water and Snow Dragon – two horses who stepped up from Class 3 to take on open company for the first time.
“I think this horse (Pacific Vampire) has improved a lot,” said Seow.
“He always has the speed and the ability. I rode him in his first trial and also his first win in Singapore so I know the horse pretty well, I guess.”
Seow, who earlier piloted Pacific Warrior to win the Class 3 – 1600m handicap, completed his first treble in Malaysia with Pacific Warlord in the Class 4B – 1020m sprint.
Pacific Warlord, who had a win and three placings in 12 runs in Australia, has been knocking on the door with five consecutives in his last five five appearances.

This time, the Written By gelding was able to nail the brilliant front-runner Handsome Joyful (the odds-on favourite) who was gunning for a winning hattrick.
Pacific Warlord tracked Handsome Joyful from the start and won by a head after thrilling duel over the final 200m.
“I am very happy to achieve my first treble in Malaysia and I have to thank by boss Jason and the owners (Pacific Stable) for that,” said Seow who now sits fifth in the premiership stable with 17 winners.
Ong notched his first win of the afternoon with Smart Like Jason (Andre da Silva) who broke the duck in Malaysia after two second-place finishes in five earlier runs for the one-time Singapore winner.
Ong, champion trainer in Singapore in the final two seasons of racing at Kranji, is way ahead in the premiership with 37 winners, 13 more than his nearest rival Nick Selvan.
