Selecting the best ride each month is always challenging – but finding the September/October 2021 SLTC Apprentice Ride of the Month was especially difficult. With twenty four (24) winners ridden by apprentices, this represented 31% of winners for the period – the high percentage of winners was magnified when considering that apprentices only rode 30.5% of available rides.

The Apprentice Ride of the Month for September/October with a cash prize of RM 1,000 from SLTC Trainers’ Association was won by  Apprentice WW Cheah on the Richard Lines trained and  ‘difficult to hand’, “READY TO SEVENLUCK”.  Apprentice Cheah also performed strongly during the month, riding a treble on 10th October 2021. A Special Award & RM500 was made to Apprentice AB Riduan, who rode seven winners during the month, all for his Employing Trainer, HY Cheng.

The awards were presented by SLTC Chairman YBhg Tan Sri Datuk Richard Cham at the SLTC Apprentice School session on Thursday 11th November 2021 during which SLTC Apprentice School Chairman, Mr Clement Chew, delivered a talk on managing finances to the apprentices. The event was  attended by Board Member Mr Lim Eng Ho and invited guests YBhg Dato’ Malek Jeremiah & YBhg Dato’ Dr Quaza Nizamuddin.
