In an effort to revitalise and reinforce its commitment towards advancing the horse racing industry, the Selangor Turf Club will be hosting the running of the Selangor Mile on Sunday, July 20, 2025, offering a substantial prize money of RM1,000,000 million.

Regarded as the richest four-year-old race in Malaysian racing history, the Selangor Mile promises an exciting showdown with up to 16 runners battling for victory over 1600 meters. The first nomination of entries is on June 16, followed by the second nomination on June 30, leading up to the highly anticipated final race on July 20.

The Selangor Mile is one of the Black Type races hosted by the Club in the series of 15 races scheduled in the year 2025 offering a total prize money of RM3.650 million. It is part of the initiative of the Club to host monthly feature races with prize money of RM100,000 and above.

Another major step forward undertaken by Club is the significant increase in prize money for the 2025 racing season, which is set to be the largest in recent years. The total prize pool has been boosted to RM31.0 million, reflecting a strong commitment to supporting owners, trainers, and jockeys offering lucrative rewards while raising the overall standard and competitiveness of Malaysian horse racing.

This considerable increase also demonstrates strong confidence in the sport’s future growth which is vital to elevate the profile of Malaysian horse racing on the world stage.
