19 December 2025, Kuala Lumpur

The curtain comes down on the 2025 racing season at the Selangor Turf Club this Sunday with a full 12-race program for Sunday the 21st of December, and conditions are set to play a decisive role in how the meeting unfolds. Persistent rain throughout the week has left the track on the soft side and should be a key factor for punters to key in for horses with known records on a soft track.

Two runners stand out clearly as strong plays on the program:

Race 4 – Elite Prince (No. 5)

Best Bet

Elite Prince looks exceptionally well placed to claim Race 4 and shapes as the standout betting proposition of the day. Prepared by Richard Lim, the talented sprinter made a powerful return from a break last start, cruising to a commanding five-length victory that immediately stamped him as a horse back at the top of his game.

That performance was no fluke. Earlier this year, Elite Prince claimed the Three-Year-Old Sprint Championship, establishing himself as one of the most promising sprinters in the country when beating the likes of Duma.

He maps to get a soft run just off the pace, and if he reproduces anything close to his first-up effort, the opposition may again be playing for minor placings. With natural improvement second-up, Elite Prince deserves to be marked as the Best Bet on the card.

Race 8 – Strong Dragon (No. 9)

Race 8 presents a slightly more tactical contest, but Strong Dragon profiles as the runner with the most upside. From the C.C. Ooi stable, this lightly raced galloper has been a model of consistency since arriving, boasting four starts for two wins and two seconds.

Last time out, Strong Dragon caught the eye with a powerful late surge from well back in the field, finishing less than a length from the winner. That effort suggested he is very close to another win and in a weaker field dropping in class, he stands out and is presented with the perfect opportunity to add another win to his tally.

As Selangor Turf Club signs off for the year, Sunday’s program promises competitive racing, testing conditions, and an opportunity to finish the season on a high as we look forward to the new year.
