25 year old Apprentice Tuan Nurwaki Ammar has been given the approval by the Committee of Selangor Turf Club to ride races effective 1st January 2023.
S Nurwaki who is attached to Trainer Simon Dunderdale, comes from a family with strong background of horse riding. His father, Tuan Shamsudin owned horses and rode in pony races in the state of Kelantan. S Nurwaki started riding with his father at the age of 15 and he also looked after the welfare of the horses at this fathers yard.
Upon graduation from secondary school, S Nurwaki worked as a motorcycle mechanic and at the age of 20, he was introduced to horse racing at Selangor Turf Club and upon joining the stables of Trainer Simon Dunderdale and he was provided with the opportunity to join the SLTC Apprentice School.
Upon completion of the SLTC Apprentice School training program and recording 42 trial rides, S Nurwaki gained the approval to ride in races.
