The Selangor Turf Club (SLTC) has taken a significant step toward sustainability by adopting solar power across its facilities. This initiative reflects the Club’s broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments, underscoring its responsible and forward-looking approach to operations.

In collaboration with Northern Solar Sdn Bhd, the Club launched its solar energy project last year, staying true to its vision of “Racing Towards Global Excellence”. This bold move sets the stage for future industry progress while positioning SLTC at the forefront of thoroughbred racing in Southeast Asia.

Strengthening its commitment to eco-friendly practices and aligning with global momentum toward sustainable sporting operations, the Club’s investment in renewable energy is also designed to deliver substantial financial benefits including projected annual electricity bill savings of approximately RM1 million.

As the solar project nears completion, the Club will conduct an electrical switchgear changeover from conventional electricity to solar energy on Monday, 1st June 2026 from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm. During this transition, there will be a temporary interruption in electricity supply, resulting in a halt of all activities at the Club including the off-course betting operations and the Club’s website.
