It was another big day for the J Ong stable with four winners across the eleven race program as he extends his lead in the trainers championship to forty wins for the season and a total of sixteen wins away from NM Selvan who is second on the log.

The most impressive of the winners was Pacific Commander in race 8 as he destroyed the opposition with an easy 5 length win with no signs of slowing down. It was quite the form reversal as he was unplaced in his last two starts beaten four lengths and seven lengths in both respective starts, but this time round he was a lot closer to the speed and was able to quicken up best of all with the perfect run in transit under PH Seow. The rest of Ong’s quadruple of winners included Behind Player in race 3 under R Shafiq; Surrey Hills ridden by M Lerner and closed off the meeting with Pacific Sonic under L De Souza.

Pacific Sonic Makes It 4 For J Ong

The Pacific Stable owners enjoyed a successful day as well with a treble of winners with Pacific Soldier; Pacific Commander and Pacific Sonic as the orange and white silks dominated the race card with a few placings as well. Of the riders, L De Souza and M Lerner celebrated a double with De Souza opening and closing the meeting with Pacific Soldier and Pacific Sonic while Lerner rode Platinum Glory and Surrey Hills to victory. Of the other trainers, SY Lim saddled Paletas in race 2 and Joyee Go in the penultimate race to complete a double for the stable, while Don’t Forget Boss and Lucky Warrior secured a double for the D Kok yard.
