Trainer SY Lim capped a great day when he saddled four winners in the card of 11 races last Sunday.

He started the ball rolling in Race 6 with the promising Aud Dollar with in form jockey M Ganeesh on board.

The combination of SY Lim and Ganeesh took Race 8 on Black Thorn and the team went on to win Race 9 on Astro Man. The young trainer wasn’t finished there as he continued with Numero Uno in the last with jockey S Sandana on board.

Leading trainer Richard Lines had a good day when he saddled three winners in Race 3 – Ready To Rock (J De Souza), Race 4 – Powerful Fighter (J De Souza) and Race 7 – Rainbow Fish (app CK Khaw).

Trainers SB Tan – Race 1 (Nova Spirit), Charles Leck – 2 (Exciting Propspect), Simon Dunderdale – Race 5 (What Iff), and BT Lim – Race 10 (Lim’s Battle) rounded up with a single winner each at Sungei Besi.

Ganeesh to the fore

Jockey M Ganeesh continued to hog the limelight with a grand treble on Sunday at Sungei Besi

He rode his first winner in Race 6 on SY Lim trained Aud Dollar.  Ganeesh clinched his second winner in Race 8 on Black Thorn and led all the way on Astro Man, who won Race 9.

Jockey SU Lim was successful on Nova Fighter in Race 1. S Ruzaini produced the boilover of the day with the victory of Exciting Prospect in Race 2. The long-odds winner was such a surprise that his trainer, Charles Leck, was forced to confess to the stewards that he had no idea what had sparked the sudden improvement.

Brazilian jockey J De Souza followed a double at Ipoh the previous day with two winners, both for trainer Richard Lines, in Race 3 on Ready To Rock and the following race on board Powerful Fighter.

Meanwhile visiting Turkish rider Selim Ipek, who is on a busmans holiday, tasted his first success on a favourite What Iff, trained by Simon Dunderdale in Race 5. Jockey HS Gill produced a stirring finish to win on Lim’s Battle in race 10 and in the last race S Sandana always looked in control on Numero Uno and won with a well timed run.

Horses To Follow

Trainer SY Lim’s Aud Dollar is on the upgrade and should be racing in top class soon.

The six-year-old mare by Casino Prince was quick off the mark from the start with jockey M Ganeesh on board and cleared away in the run home to win convincingly.

Richard Lines trained Ready To Rock bears watching after an impressive win.

The four-year-old by Ready’s Image was tucked in the fourth spot at the early stages of the race and saw the opening rounding the bend for home to clinch the lead to win comfortably.

Rainbow Fish made amends for the last start defeat by Aud Dollar to greet the judges.

The five-year-old by Castledale was in handy spot till the final 300m to take the lead to win in fine fashion. He should win more races in better company.

Black Thorn completed a hat-trick of victories and looks very promising judging from his win over 1400m on Sunday.

Jumped out very well, the four-year-old by Redwood took the lead at the 1000m mark and thereafter went to win with ease.

Astro Man is now on the upgrade after a pillar to post win.

The six-year-old by Roc De Cambes just dashed out from the start and raced well in the run home to win easily.

Watch out Aspen who finished a creditable second to Lim’s Battle,

The seven year old by Alamosa just lost out to the winner in the run home but was perhaps unsuited by the run of the race, and will be a different proposition next time out.
