More tale to come from Latin Legend

A confident ride coupled with a bit of good fortune saw Lim Aun Kean broke the duck in his racing comeback in the Supreme B race over 1600m at Sungai Besi today.
Lim’s last winner was on Daylight on Feb 8 and he was riding Latin Legend for the second time.
On the last occasion, he finished second (to January) on the Irish gelding by National Defense in a Class 3 – 1400m handicap two weeks ago when they went off as the favourite.
But Lim made sure that there was no excuse this time around and rode a copy book race on the six-year-old, but he needed a bit of luck.
Lim had Latin Legend in a handy fourth position on the rails early and eventually moved up to third behind the pacemaker Aniki.
Valois was breathing down the nexk of the leader. Latin Legend was followed by Eruption, Pacific Warrior , Te Akau Ben and Smart Star as the field filed past the 800m.
Aniki led into the straight ahead of Valois with Latin Legend stuck behind them third. Pacific Warrior and Eruption were just next on the outside of the front three.
With Valois desperately chasing Aniki, there was no room for Latin Legend to move out, so Lim waited patiently behind Aniki for an opening.

That came at the 200m when Aniki drifted just a little, enough room for Latin Legend to dart through.
Once in the clear, Latin Legend began to kick away and went on to win by one length. Good Star, who was third last of the 14 runners in the early running, flashed home to take second placing ahead of the battling Aniki.
“He (Latin Legend) travelled all the way. When it came to the straight, there was no room moving out so I made the decision to take the rails run.
“Luckily there was just enough room for me to go through. He’s a good horse and deserves to win and he’s get more soon.
“We had a slight check the last start and finished second.
“I was suspended for three months and just came back a couple of weeks back.
“This is my first winner and of course I am happy. I hope to get more rides and more winners.”
It’s the second win in five starts in the country for Latin Legend who raced for three seasons in Ireland for a win and six placings in 17 starts.
“He (Latin Legend) is a nice horse,” said trainer Nick Selvan.
“The field was a bit strong today but he worked good this week.
“I am happy with the horse which I bought from (retired jockey) Mark Gallagher. He’s got a good future.”
