After the highs of G1 racing last weekend, racing returns to the Selangor Turf Club this Sunday for another great day of racing expected – with ten races on the card – including the NZB Ready To Run Graduate Cup as the feature race for the afternoon.

Restricted to three year olds and horses bought from the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale in 2024, the race has attracted a field of twelve runners for a stake of RM150,000 and Mega Valor seems to be the right one. Trained by David Kok and owned by Mega Captain – who has a strong hand in this year’s edition – Mega Valor is one of the few runners who has raced over 1400m so far and has relished every inch of the distance with two wins from three starts. His last win was by far his most impressive victory beating Rumeur – who has raced in a few Cup races against older company – when he won by 2,25 lengths in a facile manner. R Woodworth retains the ride and from barrier one he should have the run of the race. The biggest danger could be Mega Crusader from the R Lines stable who is looking for a hat-trick of wins although he is returning after a 78 day break since his last run. Sir Ruby looked like a smart sort in the making when winning over 1500m but has disappointed since and will be looking to bounce back to his best form here with Capetian who is stepping up to 1400m for the first time.

The best bet on the day presents herself a little earlier on the card in race 4 with Banker’s Baby from the BT Lim stable. She’s on the one week back up after finishing third behind Star Eighty-Three in a competitive Class 4B field over the same course and distance. However, comparing the two fields, this looks like a slightly weaker assignment than last week, draws the pole position in barrier one and is set to finally get her first win in the country with Nuqman in the saddle.

First race is carded off at 1pm local time.
