Shane Edwards Moonshine Mistress (No 9), ran an eye catching second to Tilsworth Jacobi in Race 5 on Saturday should win the next time out. The four-year-old mare by Manhattan Rain was well with the pace but found the winner a trifle too good to finish second.Trainer Shane Ellis’s Mr Hanks (No 5) denied Ateej its seventh win in the MyDora Cup in Race 6 on Sunday. Ateej, four-year-old by Equal Stripes was in midfield spot at the early part of the race and had a rough passage when the heads turn but could not match the winner’s driving finish and lost by a neck at the post. Ateej should make amends next outing with a slightly longer trip. Mr Hanks showed a return to form with a gallant win to beat the fancied Ateej at the finish. The four-year-old by Showcasing snatched the lead at the top of the straight and was well handled by the young Brazilian rider in Pinheiro who made all the effort to beat of the challenge from Ateej. Keep a close watch for more wins in store.
Keep a close watch on PS Kumaran trained Super Line who finished a commendable second to Swift Embrace in Race 7.
The six-year-old by Shamoline Warrior was beaten in the run home but came on strongly to be on board.
Newcomers Aljawhra and Xena finished second and third to Sacred Tonic in Race 7 should break the ice soon.
Aljawhra, a three-year-old filly by Reward Of Effort was well up with the pace but lost out in the run home but finished second.
Xena should give a bold showing at the next start. The two-year-old by Proisir battled out the lead but could not match the winner’s powerful finish.
