The Community Horse Project (CHP) hosted its second edition of the February 2-Year-Old Online Sale with an Open Viewing at the Selangor Turf Club Equestrian Arena on Monday, 23 February.

A total of 24 lots from leading international auction houses were paraded before an audience of over 100 attendees, including horse owners, trainers, jockeys, Club Members and industry stakeholders, who inspected the horses in person.

Online bidding commenced on 23 February and will close on Friday, 27 February at 12:00 noon.

CHP is a joint initiative by the Selangor Turf Club and Horse City Sdn Bhd, created to support the sustainable growth of Malaysia’s horse population. It provides an accessible, rewarding, and affordable ecosystem for ownership, connecting racing enthusiasts with quality young horses while offering a clear pathway for both new and experienced owners.

By localizing the auction market, CHP eliminates the need for owners to travel abroad into unfamiliar auction settings, making it easier for trainers and owners to source new racing stock.

To further enhance ownership value, the Selangor Turf Club will stage a dedicated series of races exclusively for CHP horses between 1 August 2026 and 31 July 2027, with a prize pool of approximately RM1.6 million. CHP horses will also enjoy a four-month REF exemption from their first race and remain eligible for all MRA events, including Malaysia’s most prestigious races—providing owners with an exceptional platform to showcase their horses and maximize racing potential.

The first CHP sale, held in January 2026, marked Malaysia’s first-ever digital horse auction. It achieved strong industry engagement, with 85% of the 33 lots successfully sold, setting a promising precedent for future editions.
