At the conclusion of an inquiry, App J Ikram, the rider of SWEET N SOUR, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding SWEET N SOUR, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to KING GEE, BOOMBA, MR HOOPER and SABAH WIN from the start until the 1000M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration App J Ikram’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 9 February 2026 and to expire on 14 February 2026, both dates inclusive.  In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM1000/.  He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey KC Low, the rider of PRINCE LONHRO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding PRINCE LONHRO, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SABAH WIN at the 1000M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey KC Low’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 9 February 2026 and to expire on 15 February 2026, both dates inclusive.  In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, he was also fined RM1,500/.  He was advised of his Right of Appeal.

Jockey stated that he did not intend to lead, however, after jumping well, when the horse over-raced in the early stages, he elected to seize the opportunity to lead.

Jockey S John appeared before the Panel and was questioned regarding the passive nature of his riding after a good jump. In this regard, he explained that his mount was running over a shorter distance compared to its previous runs and was unable to hold his position when outpaced early. Whilst the Panel accepted his explanation, noting that the mount was visually outpaced, Jockey S John was advised to be more proactive at the start where circumstances permit, in order to offer his mounts a better opportunity to obtain the best possible position in the running.

At the conclusion of an inquiry, Jockey PH Seow, the rider of PACIFIC MV, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(ii) in that whilst riding PACIFIC MV, she failed to ensure that she did not cause interference to SQUEAKING at the 1200M.

In assessing the penalty, the Stewards took into consideration Jockey PH Seow’s guilty plea, mitigating factors, previous riding record and his submissions on penalty. She was suspended from riding in races for a period of one (1) Malaysian race day with effect from 9 February 2026 and to expire on 14 February 2026, both dates inclusive.  In lieu of one (1) Malaysian race day, she was also fined RM1,500/-.  She was advised of his Right of Appeal.

The Stewards questioned App H Haikal, the rider of QI FU FORTUNE, in the presence of his Employing Trainer, HY Cheng, on whether he had the opportunity to obtain the lead on the rail rather from the outside of BINTANG SIXTY-ONE. In this regard, he explained that his mount was racing greenly in the running which impacted his ability to decisively clear of BINTANG SIXTY-ONE. Accordingly, he elected to allow his mount to maintain the position where it was comfortable. The Panel noted his explanation, however, drew App H Haikal’s attention to the caution issued to him regarding a similar incident previously and he was advised to be more proactive in his riding.

GENERAL REPORT(S) – SLTC

RACE 11 (R0080) REBOUND STAKES – 1300M (SC A),           SUNDAY, 25 JANUARY 2026, SELANGOR TURF CLUB JANUARY MEETING 2026

The Stewards, on Saturday, 7 February 2026 at SLTC, concluded inquiries into the running and handling of JAZZ BAND (App S Shazmin) and PER INCROWN (Jockey KC Low) and took evidence from both riders.

After reviewing the films of the incidents and considering the evidence tendered, the Stewards decided to take no further action on both matters, however, highlighted the inconsistency of their riding.


REPORT OF ANALYSIS ON CLEARING SAMPLE

The Clearing Sample which was taken from BANKER’S VICTORY (Trainer BT Lim) on 24 January 2026, revealed that no prohibited substance was detected and as such, BANKER’S VICTORY is cleared to race under MRA Rule 134(12).


POST RACE URINE:

SELANGOR TURF CLUB JANUARY MEETING 2026

The report dated 29 January 2026 (V26/011) from the Chief Analyst of Veterinary Forensic Laboratory stated that 70 coded urine and 70 sets of coded blood samples from the above mentioned race meeting were received on 25 January 2026, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
