As a consequence of this horse’s behaviour and the aforementioned displacement, he became unbalanced in the early part of the race and was unable to acquire a favourable position for his mount. The Panel noted his explanation. Trainer S Hamilton was advised to take reasonable measures to improve this gelding’s manners in the stall.

A race review was called into this incident, which was followed by an objection being lodged by Jockey R Woodworth, the rider of the fourth placed horse (RUMEUR) against the first placed horse, ALWAYS A GENTLEMAN (App I Fikri) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After considering the evidence in this matter, the Panel overruled the objection and ordered the judge’s result to stand.
