RACE 1 (R0446) CLASS 4(A) – 1100m (str) BOUGAINVILLAEA HANDICAP
HEARTS OF GOLD and BALIN, both are course scratching. HEARTS OF GOLD had sustained a bruised off fore sole whilst BALIN had sustained stoned bruised near fore. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
EXDREAM (App SN Shiva) and ZAC ACE (J Chuah) were examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.
Approaching the 500M-mark, THE BOSS (KC Tham) shifted in to obtain a clear run.
Post-race veterinary examinations of STARLIGHT GLIMMER (S Ruzaini) and VALERIE PEGASUS (App A Azizi) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 2 (R0447) CLASS 5 (B) – 1600m (lc) SUNFLOWER HANDICAP
EKRAAR PHOENIX (App SN Shiva) and TAIWAN CAPTAIN (App Z Syafifie) were examined behind the barriers by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and were passed fit to start.
DISCRETELY RED (App A Nazir) jumped awkwardly.
NORDIC GEM (App H Haikal) was slow into stride.
DISCRETELY RED was over-racing in the early and middle stages and thereafter, was hanging out in the later stages.
CIRCUIT STAR (HS Gill) had a tendency to hang out in the straight.
Trainer WC Lim was questioned with regards to the improved performance of GOLDEN LIGHTNING (AK Lim) today. The only explanations he was able to offer is that on its previous run, this horse had not traveled well due to the horse float’s air-conditioner breaking down, which resulted in the horse being slightly distressed. His attention was drawn to MRA Rule 117(3) regarding ‘in-and-out’ running.
Post-race veterinary examinations of BARBARIAN (App A Azizi) and CIRCUIT STAR revealed no obvious abnormality and EKRAAR PHOENIX had returned lame off fore. As such, EKRAAR PHOENIX will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 3 (R0448) CLASS 5(B) – 1600m (lc) HIBISCUS HANDICAP
MAGICAL PARK, a course scratching as it had sustained bruised off knee, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Acting on veterinary advice that BLACK TAIPAN (S Ruzaini) was lame near fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 1.43pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
MAZANZE (App SN Shiva) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
MAZANZE was hanging out in the straight, finishing the race wide.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MAZANZE, SIR ELTON (HS Gill) and TRINITY HONOR (SU Lim) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 4 (R0449) CLASS 4 (A) – 1600m (lc) CAMELLIA HANDICAP
SUSPICIOUS MIND, a course scratching as it had sustained sole bruise near fore, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
ARION SUCCESS (J Chuah) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
GOLDEN PEACH (App Clyde Leck) shifted out from the whip in the later stages, finishing the race wide.
App Z Syafifie and Jockey S Ruzaini, the riders of THAILAND CAPTAIN and WISEMAN respectively, both reported that their mounts were not striding out freely. Post-race veterinary examinations of THAILAND CAPTAIN and WISEMAN revealed no obvious abnormality.
THAILAND CAPTAIN (App Z Syafifie) and ARION SUCCESS which both raced poorly, will each be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

RACE 5 (R0450) ENRICH STAKES A 1300m (lc) CHERRY BLOSSOM STAKES
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that VILLAGE WARRIOR (KC Tham) had cast its off fore place behind the barriers, had to be re-shod and was passed fit to race.
CHINA CAPTAIN (KP Lim) and SPEEDY MISSILE (S Ruzaini) were slow into stride.
SKYDANCE ECLIPSE (AK Lim) shifted in from the whip shortly after straightening.
KANTHAKA (HK Cheng) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
Jockey HS Gill, the rider of BIG DOCTOR reported that his mount was not striding out freely. A post-race veterinary examination of BIG DOCTOR revealed no obvious abnormality.
A post-race veterinary examination of SPEEDY MISSILE revealed no obvious abnormality.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that GHOST MARI (App N Shahronnizam) and VILLAGE WARRIOR (KC Tham) returned having cast their off hind plate and near fore plate respectively.

RACE 6 (R0451) CLASS 5 (A) –1200m (sc) CHRYSANTHEMUM HANDICAP
LANKARAN, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised off fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
Acting on veterinary advice that LUCKY STAR (HK Cheng) was lame off fore, the Panel of Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 3.15pm and the gelding will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
The saddle on MIRACLE STAR slipped on jumping, resulting in Jockey KP Lim being unable to assist his mount which was racing keenly and at approximately the 800M-mark, MIRACLE STAR rolled inwards, carrying BALL AND CHAIN (AK Lim) inwards, resulting in AUTUMN BLITZ (SU Lim) becoming crowded and having to check. HARVEYWALLBANGER (S Ruzaini) which was following, had to steady in this incident, losing ground.
In the later stages, Jockey KP Lim, the rider of MIRACLE STAR lost the use of both his stirrup irons due to his saddle having slipped sideways. In view of the fact that his saddle slipping sideways, the Panel of Stewards decided to take no further action over the above incident.
Post-race veterinary examinations of HARVEYWALLBANGER and AUTUMN BLITZ revealed no obvious abnormality.

On straightening, CHAR KWAY TEOW (SU Lim) shifted in from the whip.
Post-race veterinary examinations of KNIGHT LOVE and YES BOSSY (HS Gill) revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 8 (R0453) CLASS 5 (B) – 1200m (sc) CATNIP HANDICAP
WINTERFELL, a course scratching as it had sustained a bruised near fore fetlock, will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
GREATEST ALL TIME which was down 15kgs in body weight since its last run, was checked by the Club Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to start.
CHERISH (App A Nazir) and TILSWORTH MALI (S Hafis) were slow into stride.
PENANG STAR (App Z Syafifie) had a tendency to lay out in the straight, finishing the race wide.
CHERISH which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
At approximately the 100M-mark, GREATEST ALL TIME (HK Cheng) rolled out against the whip. Jockey AK Lim, the rider of KIPEH lodged an objection placed 2nd against GREATEST ALL TIME being declared the winner on grounds of alleged interference in the later stages. After consideration, the Panel of Stewards overruled the objection and the results stood as declared by the Judge.
Jockey AK Lim appeared before the Stewards and was warned that in future, before he lodges an objection, he must ensure that he has sufficient grounds to do so, failing which action may be taken against him.
Post-race veterinary examinations of MERRY BELL (App N Shahronnizam) and CHERISH revealed no obvious abnormality.

RACE 9 (R0454) CLASS 5 (A) – 1400m (sc) LOTUS HANDICAP
MAIDANZ BEAUTY, STARHARMONY and AUSSIE EAGLE all are course scratching. MAIDANZ BEAUTY had sustained stone bruised off fore whilst STARHARMONY had sustained bruised sole near fore. AUSSIE EAGLE had sustained bruised near fore fetlock and suspensory ligament. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
ROCK N ROLL (S Hafis) jumped awkwardly outwards.
ROCK N ROLL which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.
After the running of this race, the Clerk-of-Scales advised the Panel of Stewards that Jockey Y Aify, the rider of BE YOURSELF had weighed in to Scales 1kg below the weight that he had weighed out. As such, under MRA Rule 121(2), BE YOURSELF was disqualified from the race and the results were amended to:-
1st – LOOKS GOOD (App Z Syafifie)
2nd – MAGIC KID (S Ruzaini)
3rd – AMORE AMORE (App SN Shiva)
4th – BEIJING STAR (KC Low)
An Inquiry into the circumstances surrounding this matter will be held on a date to be fixed.
After the running of this race, the Clerk-of-Scales also advised the Panel of Stewards that Jockey KC Low, the rider of BEIJING STAR returned more than 1kg over the weight that he had weighed out at and as such, he was fined a sum of RM1,000/- (Malaysian Ringgit One Thousand ) for negligence under MRA Rule 152(5)(a) as read with MRA Rule 121(7).
A post-race veterinary examination of ROCK N ROLL revealed no obvious abnormality.

DIAMOND SET and RAINBOW FISH, both are course scratching. DIAMOND SET had respiratory allergy whilst RAINBOW FISH had sustained stone bruise near fore foot. Each will be required to pass a veterinary examination before being declared to race again.
As there is no suitable apprentice available, the Panel of Stewards permitted jockey S Hafis to replace App P Haris as the rider of SUNNY FIGHTER.
LEEDSTHEWAY (KC Tham) showed no early pace despite being urged.
ONE MILLION (HK Cheng) which raced poorly, will be required to pass a test (1000M/vet) before being declared to race again.

POST-RACE ANALYSIS (EQUINE):
27th APRIL 2024 – PERAK APRIL MEETING 2024
The report dated 9th May 2024 (V24/066) from the Chief Analyst of Usains Biomics Laboratory stated that 26 coded urine and 28 sets of coded blood samples from the above- mentioned race meeting were received on 27th April 2024, for analysis under the MRA Rules and Regulations. No prohibited substances were detected.
